I was just messing with you, although I'm sure you could write a killer dictionary. If you are really looking for a good read, let me suggest Bing Copeland's biography, Bing Surfboards. As you may know, Bing is one of surfing's premier labels and has been around since the 60's. Bing is also associated with many surfing icons, including **** Brewer, Donald Takayama, David Nuuhiwa, etc, so you're going to be reading about these legends too. I'm sure it will only broaden your scope of the surfing world and how truly unique the surfing industry really is. I got Bing to sign my copy, after thanking him for all he has done for surfing. He signed it "Your welcome! Aloha, Bing." He is one humble dude.

The anecdote of the semi-rogue wave got me all pumped up. Made me think bout small kid time when I saw my first Portuguese mujer with her onyx locks flailing in the breeze. They call it "Kettlebottom"? That looks a lot like T_____'s to me. I've never surfed it, checked it when it was about 6'-8' and it looked like the tide was a little high. Plus the paddle-out looks extremely gnarly unless you walk down the point a ways and there wasn't anyone else out... one of the few times I've wished someone was already on a peak.

I think the kettlebottom name is the production company of something, they have other vids out under the same name, but w/ snowboarding and other stuff. As far as that spot, I've only seen 2 clips of it, referred to by a different name than T_______'s, but agreed, does look similar and certainly looks gnarly. You won't catch my a$$ alone out there.

 

Unlike many other threads on SI, this one went sour really quick. Like most of life's problems, I chose to blame New Jersey. Just kidding, but seriously, NJ people are a bit crazy. Seriously though, I'm kidding.
