Hey there, My name is Chris, I'm 34, I'm an RN and I just got back into bodyboarding after about 7 years. I live in southwest Long Island. I'm having a great time, but I have no one to bodyboard with, and I hate going alone. A few times I ventured out to some popular surf spots but being a.) a bodyboarder b.) a returnee/beginner and c.) a female in her thirties didn't earn me much friendly conversation in the water. I prefer heading out to my quiet spots. Anyone want to be dragged along?
Try Long Beach at Monroe Blvd. Nice diverse bunch of people with no attitudes, old, young and in between.Lots of spongers who are varied in experience. You will fit right in.
Mind if I join in? I'm a loner too, and would like to meet some other LI boarders. Have any of you met up for a session yet?
: ) Hey Johnny, How are you? I spoke with Vic, who is very cool. I'm hoping to meet up with him for a sesh when he has some time. I'd like to check out Monroe Blvd., I think with the decent swell coming our way this weekend, I'll venture out from the jetty where I normally hang out. I haven't been to Lido since........???? College??? I'm old, remember? I ordered some new fins that won't irritate my three-times-ruptured-ligaments-in-my-right-ankle-that-frequently-turns-over-so-I-trip-in-regular-fins-like-a-moron. I do pretty well without them - last weekend I was using a butterfly stroke with my arms to paddle, but I was getting seriously f*&%^$g tired. I hope that they come before Friday!! Chris
: ) Friday is supposed to be the better day, but the forecasts change so quickly sometimes that I'm not putting my money on anything until tomorrow's forecast. LOL!
