okay, so I moved to HHI for a job offer 2 weeks ago. I finally had 5 minutes to check out a couple of beaches... I have always heard about the difficult access and all the "private" beaches in the area, but now I truly understand... For instance, on all HHI publications, there is a public beach at the end of Beach City Road on the north end. I walked the dog and family down there yesterday, and we hit a gated, dead end at the end of the street. All public beach web sites indicate that you walk to the end of beach city road for public access...

So anyway, luckily, I live about 1.5 miles north of the most talked about surf spot on the island, so being that it is public with minimal parking, I will figure that out....

So if anyone could send me a PM with some tips on this beach access stuff? The beach we went to with my wifes family was right off of their plantation, so while its "public" the only access was through private gates neighborhoods....

So while Beach City Rd Beach is listed as public, I would love to know how to get to it. I know there is no swell there unless there was a steep NE, but just for recreation...

Anyone that could PM me some tips and tricks to get to beaches on the island would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance....

And if there is anything I should know about parking at "the spot", that would be nice too. I can bike down there pretty quickly, but for the sake of time, I assume I will be making most of my runs down there to surf in a vehicle.
