Just here to vent about surfing and how new england sucks. Buy local boards. Hope i meet some new friends. Jr.
I ride mostly Chino Surfboards. I live in Massachusetts. I'm out of my 30's and into my 40's. I ride mostly shortboards, but boards that work around here. So, my everyday board is a 6' mini simms. I also have a few other boards for good waves. I have a great Chino step up in the 6'8 range that i begged him to put channels in. Great board, but when its not perfect, i find the channels to suck. If its not glassy, it stays in the car. And a Hap Jacobs 422 longboard that i have used more this summer than ever and i do not take good care of it. I feel as though i abuse it by not using it, and then not treating it nicely when i use it... Kinda like my privates. I do try to surf it proper when i take it out. No leash. Cross stepping mandatory. Drop in on short boarders sitting inside on knee high days flailing. Things that i have learned to be annoyed by: People that paddle out on the wrong equipment. Drives me crazy when i see someone sitting way inside on a hurricane swell on a 6'0" potato chip trying to catch the in betweeners and getting in the way of people dropping in on the set waves.
Good job. Welcome. Thanks for the hello thread. What's your fav color? Your pal, Mr Belmar Ps if you want to surf a real wave- book a trip to Belmar NJ
Hello jrjrjr. Welcomme. There were many strange new threads hence the apprehension. Does your girlfriend cook? Do you practice sand reconne? Also, can you swim? Where did you learn?
welcome. I hear cape cod gets the goods. guessing your shaper is chinese?...be clever if your board said "NOT made in China"
Chino had a good profile article in ESM a few months ago. The guy is core. Welcome to the forum JR.JR. Do you watch NASCAR?
Photo by the venerable Luke Simpson... Cape back in the 2000's. Its funny about the chinese guy shaping, he has "Made in Chinatown" on all his boards. My favorite color is Yellow.
