For anyone who is interested me and some buddies play outdoor roller hockey every sunday at 9am currently in freehold (Michael J Tinge Park used to be Libery oak) but we move to ramtown/howell (Deer Wood Park on Lakewood-Allenwood Road) after thanksgiving (there is a kids league now). We consistently have about 5 - 8 guys and 1 goalie. Really looking for atleast another goalie but anyone is welcome. The more we get we can rotate players off the bench constantly and play full court with 1 goalie and posts on the other end. Right now we play half court with the one goalie but are looking for more guys. This is my relief since we lose a lot of surf days during the week because of the darkness. Anyone that is interested please let me know so I can give you specifics on where the rinks are located if you dont already know. Again anyone is welcome. Thanks
hey im looking to do something athletic. toss me some of the details. just letting you know i havent played roller hockey in over a decade, although i used to be decent
Some details huh umm... It is a pretty casual game, no checking really, and we try not to shoot at anyones face.. we are all anywhere from decent to good, no one is terrible and no one is amazing. We are all in our 20's pushing 30. We welcome anyone, as long as you know how to skate decent you will be fine. Some people where shin guards - i dont. We will be playing this Sunday at the place in Freehold at 9 just show up and you can play. We just picked up 2 guys last week so we had a 4 on 3. Hopefully we get more another goalie would be great. If you need directions or anything let me know. Or just come if you dont.
Don't know where the one in Freehold is. The one on Allenwood Lakewood Rd. Rt 34 to Atlantic Ave towards Allenwood/Howell. Continue to the end, Allenwood school is on the left. Hang a left onto Allenwood-Lakewood Rd. (Road bends s-turns a bit, over a bridge and through some woods) Take the second left (Continues Allenwood-Lakewood Rd). First left is Metedeconk Rd and will take you to Brick on Herbertsville Rd, if that's any sense of direction. Follow Allenwood-Lakewood Rd. Go through the light and a 4way stop and the rink should be on the right. (Correct me if this is wrong, as I haven't been that way in a little while, but I'm pretty positive it's right)
Yes thats exactly where the allenwood-lakewood rink is. The freehold rink is on Jackson mills road. Route 9 north, take jug handle elton adelphia rd/524 and cross over rt 9, left on Jackson Mills, park is a little ways down on left. Any age is welcome, a few years ago at the howell rink we were playing with some older dudes they were pretty good and got a full court game 2 goalies, hopefully they come out again. Let me know.
