So Holden Beach looks very good for Tuesday. Wheres the closest place to park once you cross the bridge withoput going to the pier?
hey wb, i have an idea. why don't you go down there and find out for yourself! that's part of the process of finding good waves around here. why would i share with you any choice parking only to get there and find you in my favorite spot and clogging the lineup?
Sounds like Pawley is a ****. Ever heard of sharing the wealth? I don't want to tell a bunch of tourists where to park, but a surfer is a surfer and we should help eachother out.
newbs to hb... respect is earned. it's one thing to be generic about a local area, but that's like us asking how to paddle over to masonboro. there are no secrets, but some things are sacred. i get on people about talking up specifics of Pawley's on here. most of the guys reading these forums are the people who don't understand a NOAA forecast. public parking is to the left at the stop sign almost under the bridge. there are a bunch of folks from NSC that are giving the rest of us a bad name. if you go to HB remember these guys already have a beef with SC boys. have a little respect. don't drop in. share the wealth in the water not on the internet....
I find this all a little comical. A parking lot is not some secret thing you have to earn. With it being Labor Day & hurricanes about to hit the gulf & gas about to go up again, just didnt wanna blow a million bucks on gas looking for the a parking lot that has been there!
did you just accuse me of not sharing with my fellow surfers? thats a bold thing to say seeing as how you don't know me and have probably never surfed with me. i surf nc just as much as pawleys and travel almost every swell, and have found the process of finding new sandbars, etc., and even good parking to be extremely rewarding. i started in the 80s and have really been fasinated with all the changes that require constant exploration. we're not talking baja or indo here but it has its moments. (like finding some decent waves for only an hour last wed. when the rain cleaned up quite nicely) so when i say just drive down there and find it for yourself doesn't mean when you get there i won't split a peak with you.
thats straight pawley. there should be plenty of clean peaks in that area next week. ill share a peak with who ever.
