Anybody else with me when I say that these guys over-hype the forecast way too often? I couldn't count how many times they've predicted the waves to be 2-4 ft. and it was flat or when they say it'll be chest to head high and clean and it was a mediocre waist high mush.

SI is a tool that has to be learned. SI has been very good to me. Learn the ways of SI. One such rule you should learn is that a hello thread has to be your first post. Unless you are a professional hipster, complaining on your first post is not recommended. Learn the ways of SI meff.

Of course, it won't be free--he will ask about your "carbon footprint" and make you pay accordingly

....see this is about as legit as you can get on a response to this! thank you Sniffer.

Reflect back on the "are you a surfer or what makes you a surfer thread". If you can't utilize what is right at your finger tips to predict waves (which takes some time to learn...especially on the fickle east coast) then I question whether your a kook or not!

I mean, there is so much data. Last week is a great example. SI was dead on with the winds WNW from N to NW for the afternoon. Cross reference with local weather...check the buoys and bam...decent clean surf. Wow...

Oh no! Really?? I'm switching to magic sea weed!

    Btw nice first post.

Btw #2 have you considered starting a hello thread to introduce yourself , instead of insulting our beloved surf prediction site?

Btw #3 I actually find the forecasting to be quite opposite from what you describe, and I like it that way. It will say 2-4 and its chest hi- not knee to stomach.

    We love swell (info)!!

Nice Post man, these charts are actually pretty accurate, the problem often becomes the local bathymetry of the shoreline and how it affects the waves once they get there. But remember, you're a JUNIOR MEMBER junior, that means you haven't suffered in life long enough to complain on these forums. Leave the complaining to the old guys, it's too early to worry my son. #JUNIORMEMBERFORLIFEYOLOSURFRONJON
