I was thinking 10-12 foot Hawaiian. I am mesmorized by this video. There aren't many beach breaks on the planet that get this perfect that guys paddle into. Looks better than blacks and more makeable than Puerto Escondido.

The music isn't for everyone but I think its pretty fitting.

**23' Belmar pier shotts have that stuff beat, but only with the shredmachine up.
**The music is akin to fingernails being dragged across a blackboard.
    **The water looks tropical.

I'm kind of surprised you think 3=10, then again, we are talking Hawaiian scale here.

The music is pretty much in line with what is probably going through their heads having to paddle out against those sets.

1:59 is so awesome. The drop, then the perfectly timed bottom turn and snappy top turn. Total confidence.

Ya know, Hawaiian scale, aka measuring the backside of the wave, is really dumb. After all, does anyone surf the back side of a wave?? How dumb is that?? Dudes, I beseech you, lets be reasonable--measure the wave by its face. Whats next--American chop Sui is now "poi"??

Word. Awesome barrels at the OB! Here in SFla we call that the Wave of The Decade, "solid 12-15 footers (DOH plus with a few rogue cleanup sets TOH)". I always thought the back of the wave measurements were stupid, but if you are in Hawaii, and you get shacked all day err day, why not fu(k with the rest of the world? 20 foot Florida scale = 8-10 foot Hawaiian scale = almost flat Belmar scale = Tsunami for most of ya'll = who cares? if you can surf it its all good, if you can't, no worries, no shame, Buttons said big waves are like small waves if you just look at the part you are on, not the whole thing (he must have been smoking the Puna).

    go barry.
    go barry.

gotta love good ole fashioned american 'horse sense.'

the "hawaiian scale" is why perfectly normal surfers are afraid to tell other surfers how big it is.

    how big is it?
    its belly button to nipple.
