how big is this (Hawaiian)?

Sorry to have struck your nerve, dreams. I was actually born in Hawaii (but technically still a haole, kama'aina at best), but my family was ripped away by the next set of orders, as I was raised an Army brat. I love the ocean, and wish I was closer, but live inland to support my family. I was lucky to grow up spending my summers on the South Jersey shore, and I get twitchy if I haven't been near the ocean for long periods of time. I have mucho respect for Hawaiian culture, and managed to get back to the islands, spending a week out there many years back (pre-kids, when I could afford to surf travel) without one stink-eye being cast. I stayed away from the premier breaks and waited my turn where I was. No hassles. I'm pretty laid back in any line up, and the "give respect, get respect" mantra suits me just fine.

So, back to Iz. I love his voice and his music. When one of his songs comes on the internet stream I listen to at work, I often stop what I'm doing, turn it up and sit back and float somewhere tropical in my mind. I'm sad that the world is now without him, but he left his mark like many artists in many genres, and I'm thankful for that. There is no denying the fact that the man was physically massive. (I won't go into all the reasoning/causes etc., and I have read into that a little bit. I just feel sorry that because of his size he lived such a short life.)

My post was meant as a simple pun on the phrasing of OP's subject line, nothing more, nothing less, and again I'm sorry it touched your nerve and elicited such a response.

Bahhhaaaa, that is awesome man! And I think HI should shut the hell up about whitey and the mainland Haoles considering all the other tropical waves with as good and many better breaks than HI that have been found. You are no longer the only place to go surf big/perfect waves so suck on dat braddahs.

Oh and also I dig Iz's mucsic. Dude was an exceptional musician and human and it sucks that he's gone but Capt's post was funny as crap and I was actually about to post a similar pic but saw that he beat me to it.

Capt. JAQ- my apologies for my name calling towards you. it was unwarranted. i got heated and i haven't surfed since xmas. you are in fact an honorable gentleman. I feel for your situation to do whats right for your fam and i wish you the best of luck in the future to get closer to some surf.

this will be my final post. Gotta get somewhere that senior members are an example of the Forum that has named them as such. not a badge for the freedom of their own douche baggery. Nobody cares how big it is. Are there any Hos to contend with? That is the question I often ask before I paddle out when it is macking.
