an hour from newport news to VA beach, make it out 2, sometimes three times a week, whenver there is waves
Home: 30 minute drive to a several spots in DE. more often 45 min drive to OCMD. new work location: 10 minutes from waves
5 minute drive or a 5 minute walk to surf the home street - but the sandbars out front haven't been great since august.
3 hrs Thankfully by this summer it will all be over and I'll be a) beachside, b) warmer and c) out of delmarva.
I thought the same thing, are you a resident of the bayshore? the lights on 36 can be hit or miss but they are generally all green at 5 am during the dp's
2 hrs. only get a surf when i know there is swell. on the flipside i live 6 minutes from mountain creek, so i snowboard everyday in the winter
i lived in middletown for my whole life, but now i moved to matawan with my girlfriend b/c it's a bit closer to both of our works. 36 is the worst road w/ lights i have ever driven on in my life. it's liek they time it so you miss every light. i don't think i've ever made more than 2 in a row in YEARS, no matter what time of day. when i go to lb/deal i go parkway just to avoid the lights
Usually 2 hours in the offseason atleast once a week and about a 5 minute bike ride during the summer/fall
When i used to live right outside philly, i would drive down after school (1:30) if there was swell, be in Brig by 230 to grab my **** and be in the water in AC by 3. Surf till dark, and head home that night for school the next morning, almost never missing a swell. Sucks in winter when it gets dark before 5! Now i go to ACCC and work in class around surfing
Off season its like 2 hours and during the summer its like 2 minutes. . . Wish i went to college closer to the coast
Isn't summer the "off" season? or am i wrong ? I've noticed this in multiple posts... but i've always thought of summer as the off season for surfing.
yeah thats true i mean its so hard to get there "in" season. . . luckily my school's got a two month winter break so i'll be at my break for a solid two months
