So glad you came to SI for the medical advices bro. Your oral surgeon, GP, PCP, and psychotherapist are all of little use compared to the learned doctors here.

    To answer your question:
You'll be ready to surf again if you charge the third swell of 6.5' or greater for only swells with an average wave period of 11s or greater that occur following the next vernal equinox.

    Hope that helps brah!!

Btw...it's good form if you don't take your prescribed opiates and save them as an offering for your good bud SJB/PJB/NSWW/GSJB/GSJBII.

dude i waited about two weeks, it depends on the extraction and how well it goes. it also depends on if your teeth a impacted in a crazy angle or not. if its a simple and painless one you should be good in a week or two.

Make sure you actually swallow a good amount of salt water in your first sesh back. The salinity and other organisms will sterilize the surgical wounds. Gargle in between sets before swallowing.

Not a wisdom tooth, but a molar near it. Had it pulled a year ago. Took about 2 weeks for it to skin over and not tastin blood ever so often. So, I'd say 2 wks. Prolly woulda been 1 wk, but I kept diggin around with my tongue in that new crater back there. It's like, "I know I ain't 'posta do that, but..." It takes a minute to get used to.

Nearly as practical as seeking post-surgical medical advice on a surf forum.

Eh... They tell ya to gargle with salt water... or do they?

I had my impacted teeth surgically removed and then flew to Europe for a two-week climbing trip the next week. Got hella infected. Looked like I was hiding a golf ball in my face. Two quasi-emergency trips to the doc, one on her magesty's dime and the other compliments of the French.

You mean, they treated you like a human being, not making you bend over and spread your cheeks?
    Wow!

You just have to inhale and exhale through your nose.
