Go every weekend with my girls. We blog each adventure on a private FB page. And I bring home one shell each time and throw it in a big empty wine carafe. It's about 2/3 full now. It's nice to go back and read old adventures. We go in all conditions cept lightning.

Sharks don't really other me ( I have the mermaids on my side ), but lightning scares the bejeezus out of me. Maybe it's the steel plate in my head.

Don't go to El Salvs during our summer months (their winter). Nightly bouts of lightning that are something we just don't see up here this high on the globe. Unreal. So...who's your Thunderbuddy there Ted?

Never enough days in the water....100 plus days for a lot of ya i see. Do you guys work?!? I prob average 70 good days here on the banx. It is often firing while I am working 8 to 5s...not a fun surfer schedule esp in late fall or winter. You guys that get 100 plus days are blessed...living a grom life

I bet I average once/week so 50-60x per year. Work does get in the way somewhat, but this year it's been totally conditions-driven. I had plenty of opportunities to surf, including THIS ENTIRE WEEKEND, but no waves.

My shoulders have been a MESS lately...I'm kinda nervous they could become a session limiter. Can't have that...pass the Cortisone, please.

I went open-water swimming 183 days in a row without missing a day this year... April through October.

I go bodyboarding whenever either :

    1. reports are rideable and there is enough time to get to a break after work before sunset (i.e. before September-ish)

    2. Weekend day with decent waves

    3. Weekday with sure-thing-epic-enough storm to warrant taking off work (this is hard though - you never really know what the waves are gonna be like until you get there).

    4. Vacations/trips

So far this year it's probably only been 20-30 good sessions (like, one every couple weeks on average).

Ya... but lucky enough to be out of work in time to get a session in before dark just about any time there's waves. but if it's a marginal swell and high tide at 4... I'm getting skunked.

But... low expectations = few disappointments.

I'm struggling to make 50 days this year because I'm turning 50. 5 more to go, I just hope mother ocean cooperates... 2 very active kids, my own business, wife, obligations galore... it was tough this year to pull this off.

But I did have some of best sessions in years.
