"beginning in the early 90’s, researchers with UC Davis and the Point Reyes Bird Observatory innovated the use of surfboards as a lure" http://www.pelagic.org/research/WS_lure.html
Then you have a lot in common with it. Post something that doesn't pertain to that thing in your mirror for once. Maybe not tell us how the waves in NH are so much more epic than in CR, as you noted in your 'trip report' - - along with providing us your self-portrait of what the ugly American is.
I'd read somewhere that painting your bort like Finding Nemo repels sharks. Fock I'd do that just for fun
Interesting artical regardless of when it was written At first I was freaking out a bit since they where basically using a surfbort for a shark lure... But then it says that the Sharks rarely attack it and are usually just curious. So it basically 'lures' the shark to follow it to the boat. Not like a fishing lure with hook Then I was relieved when I remembered that Belmar (the best break in the continental US) had installed shark nets- no need to worry if you surf Belmar!!
Well, not so much PJ; a 'fight' would imply two parties of relatively equal capabilities. It's more of a brush-off stomping of a termite that once in awhile runs around on my front porch.
Yep, there's another 20 feet of board behind him so Towelie is right, on the Gnome plank that is a nose ride.
