The water temps are actually maxing right now believe it or not. In August, the water topped off at 62... Right now, for the past two weeks, it has been like 90 degrees at the beach with not a cloud in the sky, so the water temps crept back up to about 64.... Some guys are still trunking it cause the dry heat makes it feel really warm... Im still in a 3 mil spring suit plenty comfy.

The multiple swells that have been hitting SD the past 14 days have been nothing short of EPIC. I have been surfing like 4 hours per day, it has been HH-3ft OH for 2 straight weeks. Ive been hitting blacks, the LJ reefs... The cliffs havent really woken up because the swell is mid-range as far as size... But every beach break has looked like feraking blacks for weeks. Huge wedging peaks, clean as hell, not ANY wind on it... Its been really nice, and looks like it will continue.

But long term, over the next 3 days, the NW swell peaks again, reaching 2ft OH, then it is dropping back to chest-HH for wed-thursday, then Friday afternoon, it looks like another big NWer is swinging down the coast and looks to be sending more OH+ surf to all of SD... The best spots while you are here will most likely be from Blacks South... All the significant swell energy over the next two weeks is comeing from the North, so lowers and all that will be average at best... Not like the Hurley pro was...

So, it looks like if you are visiting in the next 5-16 days, you will score for sure... I am literally gassed out, sunburnt beyond belief.... Clocking tons of water time.... No sh** man, Ocean Beach has looked like Blacks on Crack for the past week. Huge perfect sets hitting the reefs on the southside and wedgin up under the pier. Big barrels. Nice huge shoulders... Pretty much perfect conditions for anyone.

Good luck. You know your way around obviously, so you will know where to be. Swell is here, and looks like it will be for a while....
