east coast wave map at 180hrs out shows a huge red blob approaching the eastern seaboard...why is it not an active tropical system??? this thing looks huge easily cat 4-5
It's not active because nothing has formed yet. It's still just a model output, but wow is that impressive!
NHC doesn't expect this to develop within 48hours, but looks like it should start to get going after that. Dont put too much stake into 180 hours out, but definitely worth keeping an eye on!
