Don't believe what you read, and only half of what you see. The media has to sell this crap somewhere. Surely there are better stories with actual investigative reporting. For the love of it all, please stop posting this crap.

    I can't believe I took the bait!

Dance monkey dance, just put on the red hat and keep holding your tin can while they grind the music.

Honestly I don't like even parking between 6n and 6s to surf in J-ville due to all the vagrant types hanging around. I'm always friendly and have even given what I can to people in need but I always feel like my spare board sitting in the car could be seen as a trip to the pawn shop resulting in a couple of cheese burgers and and case of beer. I don't even own anything nice but I own more than they do making me a target (at lest in my head). O well at least its not as bad as the rash of break-ins at 1st VB circa winter 2005ish. Know a few folks whose spare got used to lift items from their vehicle while surfing. Anyone else ever feel like that?

Police targeting the homeless in Columbia is old news. And many of us SC residents have expressed our anger towards Columbia. The FEMA camp is just fear mongerer lies. My friends in Columbia said most of the cops are basically just kicking the homeless out of town. It is bullsh1t, but not as horrible as those sites would have you believe.
Personally, this leads me to believe the Columbia police department is out of control: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/20...eatens-action-advocates-legalizing-marijuana/

But I'm sure we're sposed to believe what they tell you about all the oil they've found in the Dakotas, and that the Stock Market will rally forever...and that printing money ad infinitum won't lead to hyper-inflation?

Well if your "friend says it, it must be true. truly all those others are liars. especially this, "Homeless people can stay at the shelter, but they’re not permitted to walk off the premises. In fact, Columbia will even post a police officer on the road leading to the shelter to ensure that homeless people don’t walk towards downtown. If they want to leave, they need to set up an appointment and be shuttled by a van."
    from here,

looks like DC is changing it's tune.

I guess this way, our representatives won't have to "contribute" to the police widows and orphans fund when caught

All the other links you posted are from people who don't even live near Columbia. FEMA camp is not the same as getting a free shuttle ride out. As I said, you are late on this. It is messed up and many of us have written to state political leaders about it. However, it isn't a FEMA camp. Just like I said, the police are basically kicking them out of town. Let's not exaggerate the issue. It is bad enough with the truth, and inviting all the tin foil theories only lessons the seriousness of the issue. I welcome you to write to the community leaders as well. More voices is always better, but stick to the facts. Criminalization of homelessness on public land is a violation of human rights.

"Update: Contrary to popular media reports, including Columbia's daily The State, Eva Moore of the Free Times reports that Columbia City Council did not vote to create an edge-of-town "retreat." However, they did vote to open the downtown "winter shelter" earlier then usual on Sept. 15 and noted that the retreat was still on the table, but it had to be discussed further."

Fear monger sites take 10% fact and mix in 90% speculation. I like where your heart is, but try to rise above the tin foil hat stuff.

tin foil hat stuff is kinda odd, for sure, but lets look at the gvts track record....smallpox blankets anyone....
Also, dont look at what thing says it does, look at what it actually does...they SAY you can keep your insurance under obamacare...and now you cant. dont believe the rhetoric, look at the reality.

Why is there a COG (continuity of gvt) and not a COP (continuity of population)...for this simple reason...they dont care about you or us so long as we stfu and pay taxes, THAT is the truth

it's the insurance companies that's dropping those plans because they're schitt plans. They used to get away with selling those like they used to be able to drop you when you get really sick and reached your lifetime limit or have a preexisting condition.

My "official" ACA quote saves me over a thou a month. I'll be able to become a heroin addict now.
