in a completely voluntary society full of individuals expressing their own free will and acting voluntarily in their own best interest, (divy-ing out welfare as seen fit, voluntarily) perhaps ignoring or 'icing' an individual serves as the defacto enforcement. if a majority agree an individual is behaving improperly by not following protocol, they cease to trade with (words, goods, etc), or ignore said individual.

starting a hello thread out of turn could be ignored. and people who dont ignore it, get ignored. I reckon you could write and produce data for each protocol and the likelyhood of it being enforced via voluntary interaction of a majority...... kidding. people are complex and cant be reduced to code to determine behavior....or can they........

ccdog, confused why you used the word antinomian. totally had to look it up, too.

    From Webster: Definition of Antinomian
1: one who holds that under the gospel dispensation of grace the moral law is of no use or obligation because faith alone is necessary to salvation
2: one who rejects a socially established morality

I was using the word, "tongue in cheek" (but perhaps with some truth to it), with definition #2 in mind, given the observation that the precepts required of #1 do not appear to be in the wheelhouse of most of the SI demographic.;)

No, I vote no. I would hate to see the day pass without notice that some newb actually takes us serious enough to answer all our questions, post all the pictures we ask of them and give us their ssn.. Thusly we may never see the likes of the new jersey shred machine re invented , re incarnated or the likes of some of the others that have given us such freedom to laugh and think ... wait a minute is this for real!!! Typically the hello treads are some of the most interesting and useless information on here but for me I enjoy all of them,Hello tread !!!

I agree with Betty, when a thread gets too long I am not gonna read it. That is of course unless its something very interesting to me and a hello thread does not fit the bill. Besides we have been instructing them to start their own lately.

Ok. Mr. Secratary, please add a third option suggested by Rcahtah:
    Zero hello threads.

Also number Mr WCDK with the antinomians.
