    Hard to compare, given the massive differences in money and resources.

    You also have to realize these independent space start-ups only exist because organizations like NASA will contract work out to them. Defunding NASA will only lead to less research and exploration. I can agree that they probably shouldn't be the only game in town for launch vehicle development, but I will never agree to reduce money into the whole program.
