So I saw SUPthing Sat that was funny. I was scoping the surf at Frisco bath house south of pier Saturday. Pier lot was full I guess. AnywAy these three Supers (two chics) come over the dune carrying their sups. They proceeded to carry them up the beach in the wind all the way to pier. After 100 yards or so the two chics where clearly struggling with the heavy boards. I'm thinking what are they thinking. Watched them struggle all the way to pier then they paddle out and get worked. WHY? I mean just go straight out and get worked...seemed like a lot of work. These where the huge boat sized sups.

When kooks on SUPs come and try to surf my private break at Mar A Lago I tell them to get out before they get carried off on a stretcher. Let me tell you.

    Make America SUP-free again.

You could have a SUP outside the break like a mother ship with your quiver tethered to it,with a cooler of refreshments onboard and maybe a tv

Now that's how you SUP! Pack a bunch of beer, herb, water, and snacks. Fishing from an SUP is a blast, I highly recommend it.

I took 2 boards to the beach Saturday a 5'6" and 9'2" ,first i went out on my sb and got dogged by the lbs and SUPs so i had a block of cheese to go along with my whine and then i went out with my noseryder and had a blast til I ran over a shoulder hopper guy on a longboard who fell off on his take off and kicked the board out in front of me and i ran over his 1250 $ Ricky Carrol longboard breakin a fin on my board but not a scratch on his. Its Karma bra i wasnt counting how many waves i got or keeping track of others wave count

I guess we should start having a referee on beach with a clipboard tracking our waves so we dont get ahead of anybody

So there is a large contingent of wanna be surf police members on here who should get together and get badges and special outfits(matching) and maybe ballcaps with the surf police logo on it yu could have a contest on best design for your surf police logo and then collate some data on SUP surfers and longboarders and keep it on file

This is the problem with SUPs and LBs. Keep in mind I do LB. I'm not hating just to hate.

Sunday I'm out on my 5'8. It was chest high and clean. Fun waves. I got in early before the crowd got heavy, got some fun ones. Crowd got heavy, mostly guys on LBs. Long story short, I was looking for my last wave. I'm sitting next to two LBs. Like huge 4 inch thick LBs. Wave rolls in, I paddle and so does "LBer A". I back off and he catches it. No biggie. He was closer to the peak by like half a foot. Another rolls in, same situation but with "LBer B", and this time I was closer to the peak. Still, no biggie, next ones mine right? I showed respect. They both get back out, next set rolls in, I paddle for it but "LBer A" thinks it's his. At that point I start dropping in, except this was my last wave. But I don't want to drop in. If I was having trouble catching waves and it was small and mushy...ok, I'd understand that. But it's chest high and low tide, because I want to ride a SB it means you can have them all? No way. I show respect and expect some in return.

And I realize this is a people problem not a board problem, but those people are usually on bigger boards. I could get my LB and paddle circles around them, does that mean every wave is mine? No.

Just ranting here but that sorta thing really grinds my gears and puts a damper on the sesh. People who drop in are jerks, and your making me have to be a jerk

^^^ Paddling around can not be tolerated, no matter the equipment.

There's a local guy up here that only SUPs anymore. Totally cool guy who could take every wave he wanted from waaaay outside. But he just doesn't. He takes his fair share, and that' sit. How can you get psst off about a guy like that?

I got a buddy who has a knack for dropping in (at the same time mind you) when someone's on the outside. Honestly, he just doesn't see the guy- like he gets tunnel vision when the wave is coming in. If you call him out, he'll stop and not paddle in cuz he does try to respect the code. He's just got a vision problem. Well we went out this past wknd and there's a guy who SUPs by the pier, trucker hat n all, who doesn't respect the code whatsoever. I've seen the guy come right up to where i or others have been sitting and in stride taken the wave we've been waiting. Anyways, I was very happy my buddy dropped in on the guy who didn't have the right of the wave and knocked his a$$ off the board. Finally that tunnel vision was a stroke of genius. Told my buddy 'thanks' and he had no clue what i was talking about haha

haha he will continued to be warned and if it does backfire - he'll be alone in the trenches taking grenades. Luckily he has never dinged anyone or their board up...yet

IDK man, someone who tells me they have a vision problem because they get "tunnel vision" is either #1. Lying through their teeth to get away with what they are knowingly doing or B. They are a kook who can't see what's going on around them because they are too focused on not screwing up and the conditions around them may be too much for their mind to handle and can't process things fast enough, therefore things are moving too fast for them.

he doesn't say vision problem but i do. i tend to exaggerate and give him sht about it so he gets the message. it's always tough too when he likes the most common know beach break around here, Washout, in any condition and it tends to get overly crowded in a two block span. I don't care for the crowds, but at that break there's almost always 2-3 guys riding the same wave. Sometimes you get lucky and get on one, but i'm done defending him now haha

Dude, yuppies ruin anything for me. If I had the scratch, I'd honestly probly get one for use in the Sound..but they're presence would bother me. Unless I was balls deep in soccer mom strange then I could live with it. I saw an "I SUP" license plate recently.
