this talk of whiners is funny coming from the sources they are. the final House proposal funded the govt (as all did) but removed the Obamacare exemptions for Congress, High govt offices and some large businesses. Surely, those of you the hate all things smacking of success shouldn't have an issue with that (sticking it to those evil rich people). If Obamacare is SO great the WHY are there so many exemptions for those who support the President?????????

I also heard the 'law of the land argument. Did you know int he 90s, Congress and Clinton enacted a law requiring people on welfare to work. Sounds like that is the law of the land to me too but Obama nullified that requirement via executive action.

The irony on all of this is that the left hated Bush because they thought he was out to destroy freedom and the right hates Obama for the same thing. Like I said, time to split up the country.

We are already there, and that's why things are so fukked up right now. We need more than a 2 party system. Both the right and the left only work for themselves.

No i mean literally split up the country. one would be governed based on collectivist principles and the other will be governed based on individual freedom and responsibility. it actually makes a lot of sense. In urban areas, collectivism has some merit but doesn't not work well in suburban and rural areas. That is the crux of the division, the collectivists try to force the individualists to live by their philosophy and vice versa.

pumpmaster - yeah there is a serious amount of irony there. congress and unions and their cadillac plans want to be exempt from Obamacare...ever hear of a cook that refuses to eat the food he prepares in his resturaunt? aholes. also, the Clinton act, requiring ppl on welfare to work is smart and Romney was planning on getting that going again if he got into office.

    Yeah as rodndtube points out.......

Why can't America get it together to provide universal health care? Every other first world nation does it. Is America inferior? F%$#ING RWANDA has universial health care.

Yes, I know a lot of youse guys have the, " Oh well he/she can't afford healthcare......let them die.......oh well, they have no food or shelter....let them rot.....not my problem" syndrome.

But that's just plain wrong. If you can give a helping hand then you should. You people have to get over this obsession with cars, toys, tech gadgets, and other material possessions.

All you need is shelter, food(pizza), clothing(Quiksilver), wetsuits, boards and weed. That's all you need. And wetsuits and boards aren't material possessions. They are mere vehicles to tap into a spiritual force greater than one's self. Same with weed. God, if I had any weed, I'd be unstopable.

Stop being so greedy and self-centered. Take care of your neighbor. You may need help some day, too. Pumpmaster, remember even Red lost his job, and he was lucky to get that job at Price Mart. But what if he didn't get that job? He would have ended up jackin' it in San Diego..........

keep your capitalism and greed, its one of the reasons we are in so many wars. i mean for some odd reason i dont think that our foreign policy's are shaped by lobbyists from huge corporations. i mean war is big business. what does it cost to pay off the congress? 1 dollar thats right theyre like little strippers.

I have been advocating for this splitting of the country, too. I even mapped it out on this site awhile ago. Blue land entails all of the west coast; the Candian border states; east through the Great Lakes States to Maine; then down to North Carolina. The reds get the interior states and SC and FL on the east coast. Good luck !!! You'll lose. For one thing the conservative base is comprised of incestial rubes who can't read or write.

But ummm, your side, based on, "individual freedom and responsibility," does not define republicans. Republicans support every freedom supressing law in existence. Individual freedom? What individual freedoms do the right support? I don't know of any.

Is cutting taxes, especially for the wealthy, and then starting two wars without a funding source being fiscially responsible?

Is banning abortion, creating a FCC Indecency Crusade, urine testing, examples of FREEDOM? So, Howard Stern can't talk aboot vagina on the airwaves, huh? And the government can collect and analyze my urine? Freedom and responsibility.............Freedom and responsibility

And your synopsis on the spending bill up above lost me.

And for God's sakes people, being on welfare is NOT an ideal life.

WOULD YOU GO ON WELFARE? But the benefits are so appealing !!! A single dude in NJ can get $140.00 in cash a month !! WOW, living large. $200.00 in food stamps. You can wait on a list for some emergency housing BS where you can live in places like Bridgeton, Atlantic City, Camden, Trenton, Newark and Jersey City - and not the nice side of the tracks ......

Wow, that sounds wonderful!!! I think I'll quit my 100,000 a year job to go on welfare. That way I can just sit on my steps all day drinking and yelling at passersby. Man I hope I get housing in Camden, that'll save me transportation money when I go get my crack because everyone on welfare smokes crack, right. DAMN, I wish I was a chick cause I could get pregnant a bunch of times......

You republicans are just evil, unsympathetic, cruel people.......whose WHOLE way of thinking changes when something BAD happens to you.

Hey republicans in Jersey and NY.....did you have your hand out after Sandy??? Huh, I bet you you did. YEAH FEDERAL ASSISTANCE !!!! Oh but that's different, right? Yeah because something bad happened to YOU.

you are confused with social conservatives which i refer to as theocratic statists. A true conservative would be akin to a libertarian today.

Welfare might not be ideal but that are many who are fine with it.

I think we're talking aboot different FCC attacks. The one I'm talking aboot was Bush thang headed by Colin Powell's son......

Tipper's wasn't political it was gender related. All chicks, repub or democrat, get offended easily by WASP, Twisted Sister and other perverted 1980's metal acts.

And the next person to use the word, "STATIST" is going to die. What is "STATIST" the new official SWELLINFO word of intellect? Oh shoot, I just used the word after I told everyone not to. I guess I'll have to off-mself by wacking.

Pump, I still like you and respect you even though we disagree on politics. So don't get angry or sad. I can help you if you want. I hold reprogramming sessions every last Sunday in Middle Township. I can fix your thinking........let me help you, Pumpmaster.

Oh hey Pumpmaster, what aboot me? I can't work sh!tty jobs until a good one comes through. Really, I can't. I lose it. I either become insane with thoughts of violence or self-destructive. I've come too far to throw it all away working with absolute fools.....fools with attitudes who barely got through high school. I've tried. The same thing happens every time. And I can not deal with the general public in mass quantities. I do not care aboot their retail needs.

welcome to my world. how about this, welfare that is part of a civil work corps? You get welfare but you have to work on public works projects to be eligible?

your a statist PJB. So quite the TOM foolery. put a FORKN in you! you are done!

I wonder how someone could claim to want to help the poor yet be such a complete and utter trainwreck of a human
Alas, you likely have few friends
I wish there were franchise governments where I could pick the 'level' of gvt I wanted
No I dont want the 17.99 buffet with everything, can I pay 99 cents for a glass of water and croissant?
Then I can take my leftover money that wont be misspent and give it to charity AS I SEE FIT

you demanding that I be part of your collective is violent, just like you

I hear you on that. But heaven forbid you would be struck down with some illness with no health insurance, then you would lose your job, and then lose your house.

Sounds good to me. And sounds good to a ton of people including the folks on welfare. Having a working job is a great feeling (except for Mondays!). However, I don't think public works projects are part of the Tea Party/Libertarian agenda.

I don't think that's true at all. Like I said most people in the right are ok with a safety net and workfare, we just don't want people dependent on it. From a libertarian POV, if the govt controls your income, health care, etc, the govt controls YOU.

Most of the Libertarian agenda is against taxes, period. Privatize everything. There isn't much love for a safety net which many believe can be provided by churches and non-profits.

Does the pope crap in the woods? Are you going somewhere with this non-sequitor? Some of the jobs I've had had health insurance and when they didn't I *gasp* bought my own!
