Come on boys....tell us all about how thin of a wet suit you're in or trunking already! I haven't seen enough of these nauseating threads the past decade! We need some more!

Complain about summer and "normal" people coming to the beach....because you are sooooo hardcore and better then them! There was an article written on nesurf a year or two ago and the guy sounded just like you guys. Sounded like the most miserable douche to be around.

"Where were you in winter!"...... I'll answer that. NOT at the beach in the water in new england like any normal sane person. Have fun "surviving" and freezing your ass off to prove what a big man you are and then start trunking it when it's ass cold. In all honesty, I never find the water here to be warm enough for swimming without something on. Got to get to tropical waters for that. Water temps in upper 60s...hell no. Too cold for trunking.

Oh and lets have a biggest wave ever thread where you guys can brag about the 20-30 footers top to bottom barrels at beach break and how it's so core to risk your life for a stupid thrill....Jeez at least make some money doing it.

i think most people in the northeast deal with the cold water temps because that's when the waves are best. can't show off how bad ass you are to an empty beach

No they come on here to tell everyone how bad ass they are!! Honestly, seems kind of immature. Like a 14 year old to think your bad ass just because you're cold. Silly actually.

Actually the waves are the best in the fall/spring. Biggest waves of the year are in the fall. That's when the hurricane swells come in. Winter stuff is mostly a few feet overhead at best. You don't see TOH 15 second period stuff at the points in RI in Jan.

Lots of trunks yesterday in Maryland. I for one wore a 3/2, I knew after my 5 hour session I would be cold had I trucked it. Know one sees me surfing the winter and I refuse to go out in anything over chest to head high once the water drops below 45 degrees, I leave those days to the young guys. If you love surfing I can't imagine spending 5 or 6 months out of the water. I get nothing out of it other than the burning of nervous energy that builds up being locked inside for so long.

I trunked it today on block island, body surfed for a bit.

Alot of tourists were there on their boogie boards. Trunking it as well. They didnt seem too think the were very tough, just enjoying some nice weather

I don't think there are many 14 year olds on here.

If you love surfing that much you'd move to a place that actually gets waves like California. Not a place where you week long flat spells throughout the entire year including winter. Just compare number of rideable days waist + in san diego area vs ANYWHERE on EC. Case closed. The more core set would MOVE, not be miserable for the 5 times a month they get out in January.

Yeah swimmers trunking it here too in 59 degree water. It's freezing and miserable. No thanks. People here also do polar swim in 35 degree water. No thanks. I never really understood the whole beach culture in the northeast. It's too cold for no wetsuit. Not nice. Have to head south for that.

I like the pace of surfing in Maryland, enough surf to keep me from going nuts, uncrowded enough so I don't feel claustrophobic, enough days of flatness that I can actually get something done, and small to medium sized surf that fits me better than constant macking swells. Pretty sure I would hate California, never miserable in Maryland.

Went to trunks and rash guard last week. What a relief. Water in low 70s and felt great.

Trunked it for an hour in 58-60F last night and wasn't even slightly hypo. 80 and sunny helped and this was 5pm. 2 Yuenglings pre-sesh helped numb the sensation and the constant paddling of clean, small shorebreak waves kept core temp up too.

went swimming in Atlantic City yesterday in trunks. Water is 4 degrees warmer there than my home break. With how flat it looks for the next week... no doubt it's trunks in Monmouth County with the next bump.
