    July has awoken againe.

    As of 2:00 am EDT Tue Jul 18 2017 ...

    A tropical wave, accompanied by a well-defined low pressure system,
    is located over the central tropical Atlantic several hundred miles
    west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

    Some gradual development
    of this system is possible through mid-week while it moves toward
    the west-northwest or northwest at 10 to 15 mph. After that time,
    environmental conditions are forecast to become less conducive for
    development.

    * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
    * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

    An elongated low pressure area located about midway between the
    Cabo Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles is producing a large
    area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some gradual
    development of this system is possible during the next day or
    two while it moves toward the west-northwest or northwest at
    10 to 15 mph. After that time, environmental conditions are
    forecast to become unfavorable for development.

    Colorado weather experts just doubled the number of expected hurricanes from 4 to 8 this season, due to lack of El Nino and the early activity we've had so far.

    They are usually clueless, but they may be right this year, for once.

    The sea turtles have been laying their eggs high up on the dune line, a sign of an active storm season.

    Good call. My wife does sea turtle patrol twice a week. She said about 8-10 weeks after they stop laying is when we get a storm. They know. Last year it was early August when they suddenly stopped nesting. Matthew was in October.

    Makes sense! Those f'ers know what's up. I see the same one almost every day at my local. He looks prehistoric and sh*t. Barnacles all over him, and he's YUUUGE! When he sticks his long neck and head out of the water it looks like a big periscope on a submarine.
