Igor has left, and currently Lisa is set to spin near Africa. TD has formed in the southern carib, and severe storm systems have quieted down off western Africa. Is this the end of the season for the midlantic?
basically, it's possible that the trough on africa lifts and shifts a little but its probably unlikely
TD 15 looks like it has a lot of potential to develop in the Caribbean. It is not so uncommon for storms to enter the gulf and head up the east coast. Climatologically speaking the middle of september, cape verde season, is the most active. We generally see more spread out storms through October though, so I would expect more storms to come.
mook, nov 3rd 2007, hurricane noel sent waves pumping, oc,md was legit going off and handling the size, most of the eastcoast scored that storm. there is hope for sure
just signed on and wondered if there would be a post questioning whether hurricane season is over. haha. Hell yeah- Noel was amazing for 2 days here! Definitely the best surf Ive ever seen in Sea Isle that saturday that Noel came through. Thats one of those swells that will always stick with you.
in case you didn't read the other thread, i'll reiterate... October is usually the best month in the mid atlantic.
September is sometimes the overrated month while October is always the overall best month for surf. Between the Canes, Noreasters, Cold fronts and changing of seasons = Roctober.
We got plenty more coming!...(fingers crossed)...u gotta believe! I am so stoked....Earl and Igor were fun as all holy hell!!!!
