As far as I've seen, it's been all closeouts and backwash since the reconstruction and replenishment started a couple of months back. I still go when i don't have time to go further east, but it's getting depressing. Has anyone seen any decent conditions since the construction?

It's been fckin depressing since the dredging. A few days here and there but it's been close outs and casualties every swell since we lost our sandbars. I usually surf uptown and I can't remember 1 wave were I'm not racing to make a shoulder, have not had an open shoulder since the winter.

So.... No its not really surfable presently.

It has been depressing since the dredging. I returned from S. America in late August to quite a surprise. Closeout-shorepound city, tide warbling, backwashing madness. Makes you realize how good it once was, doesn't it?

Now IT SUCKS. The place is tough as hell to get dialed in. Nigh impossible. Right when I think I've found a spot that is working with high or low tide, a certain swell direction, or period, it dies. I'm trying to dial in certain jetties, even if it's only for thirty minute windows, but it's not really happening- and I am doing homework man. I might not have enough variables. Or the values are shifting too fast...

I'm guessing you have a car, just consider yourself lucky dude, and go to Lincoln/Squan... or, if you're ripped enough, Belmar.
