Is the WSL still interesting?

I enjoyed watching sports before they got politically correct.

 

I never did, so I never did. Found watching sports boring, stupid and a huge waste of time. I did so in the cradle, in kindergarten, High School, college, working career, and now in retirement.
However, I enjoyed playing a few, but surfing was it for me. That and chasing wimen!

 

Haha then you would've loved last night's game with the league's first female referee.

iirc she just made it to the college ranks only a couple of years ago. Man did they put her on the political fast track lol

Yeah, it started getting comical when baseball players from the 90's like Mark Mcgwire and Sammy Sosa were bigger than some of the most feared NFL players from the 70's like Jack Lambert and Ted Hendricks

 

Honestly, i love football. Played since i was 4 all through high school. But watching the NFL is pretty cringeworthy. At least as far as tackling goes. Terrible technique. If these guys weren't at the size, strength, and speed that they are (whether or not roids are being used) they wouldn't be tackling anyone.

It's rare that you see a guy breakdown, wrap the legs up, and drive through. Bunch of arm tackles and running into each other. I mean it works for them so i guess that's what counts. But id find it super interesting to watch if these guys weren't exceptional physical specimens and used more technique than pure speed and strength. Especially considering these guys are most likley using or did at some point.

I'm glad to see them change the rules, been seeing some good fundamental tackles lately. I got tired of watching runners just bounce right out of all those crappy "tackles".

The da hui shootout was today. I believe unrelated to WSL, way better tho. The Hawaiian announcer were hysterical. And very informative about the culture.

 

No wonder I can't find a Reef Girls calendar anymore.
