take a look at the wave maps and zoom out to "North Atlantic" and you will be able to follow the model forecast here based on the GFS global model. Also, you can look at the Swellinfo North Atlantic pressure maps, which is the GFS ensemble model. If you look at the wave maps, you will see a little blob moving towards the northern windward islands, but not developing much... This is the tropical depression Jeff Masters is referring too. As of now, this isn't looking like much over the next week, but keep an eye on it...
Thanks for that info. Good stuff. Next week doesn't concern me as I will still be here at my desk working for corporate America. It's the week after that that I'm hoping for. I'll keep my fingers crossed and my eyes peeled on that tropical wave.
no prob. 2 weeks is way to far away to make calls... but when it comes to systems well offshore, there are some maps to look at to keep the hopes going.
keep an eye on it! winds have been shown up to 35mph on a Quikscat this AM...low shear and not too bad of an environment in front of it...if this was august we could be in serious business
