No surf, so I did about an hour of paddling down the beach and back after work. Damn wore this old man out. Water in mid 60s and air temp in mid 80s. Further inland, it was 10 degree warmer. Had on the 2/1 shorty for first time this year, and had to roll into the water several times to cool off. Neck and shoulders are sore tonight.
Next time, maybe I'll put something under me on the board, like a foam pad, to elevate my chest a bit and maybe make sustained paddling a little easier on my back. "Orthopedic" surfboard? Just a thought.

 

My neck and shoulders hurt from 4 days in a row of surfing waist to shoulder high wind chop. Constant paddling and duck diving. Life is good. People are crazy. Full moon is tomorrow. Be safe out there.

 

Have fun. Enjoy while it ya got it. We're 11 days into what looks like an almost 2 week flat spell. I had to get in the water - even if it was just to get some paddling in.

 

I get infarctions for breathing. Don't sweat it. Welcome to the Den of Legends.

 

Don't write it off. There is stuff brewing out there. Look at the marine forecasts and the GFS Model. We could be in for a week of east swell in a few days. Especially in the OBX. I'm just sayin' it's not dead yet. You can thank me if I just jinxed it, but I'll be surfing chest high junk tomorrow.
