Just saw this: http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/Emerald_Isle_To_Consider_Beach_Parking_Fees_115547609.html So how is it they can use taxpayer dollars to replenish the beach but when it comes to giving taxpayers access to the beach we have to pay? Doesn't sound fair to me.
Yeah, that wasn't mentioned in the news article I read. Most weekends and holidays the beach is a zoo anyways and since I'm local it's not as big a deal as I initially thought. The town of EI sure got some bad press from it though. With high gas prices and this, I wouldn't be surprised if they change their minds about charging for parking. That's what AB had to do a couple years back.
