It's Monday morning at the office so time to finalize the fantasy team.

After Owen's win at Fiji do you think we'll see the second* goofy champion?

    Thoughts?

As a goofy - I enjoy watching goofys. If I was regular, I'd wonder why they call it goofy.

I was on my feet pretty low on this one left about a week ago. And as I'm watching the water flow up on my front side I realized I can brush my hand over the lip. I did. Then I got pushed off the board, I'm guessing it curled up right into the side of my head. I remember smiling under water, sand in my mouth. On that wave - I'd forever want to be goofy.

Since Kelly's domination at J-Bay, Ive always thought Mick and Joel were the good picks there. Especially Joel. His style suits that wave perfectly. Hey! Occy won Jeffreys!! But yeah even when he was king of the goofy footers, he looked awkward at Jeffrey'sat least to me. That wave is meant to be ridden front side being such a burner.

Speaking of Occy, anyone else read that story about him in this month's Surfer? Man...what a life...

Whoops! So true - will Owen be the second** goofy champion?

I saw that article in Surfer but haven't gotten to read it yet, will definitely have to check it out!

I think JJ had a real shot...to bad he is out.

Speaking of Occy, that legend heat last year really showed his age huh?

That was hard to watch....and with him being a few years younger than Curren. I read an interview where he said his horrible surfing in that heat was a wake up call that he need to do some training. He's NOT a natural athlete.

Good point about him being younger than curren. It's about lifestyle too I guess. That's why Kelly can still dominate IMO. I certainly feel like Occy sometimes!

I'd like to see Dane really bring it too, his highlights from past years are awesome.

I predict some great waves will be ridden.

I predict the announcers (see Joel Turpel) will be as annoying as F%&*

I predict that I will not care about the contest unless I am bored and at work and it's on.....and only if its an elimination heat.

I predict I will root for the GOAT.

I predict Caroline will be more interested in this than I.

Pick Jordy Smith.....a lock for a good result....other than that......IONNO.

Mick should be a lock to make it deep, Adriano will be right there as well.

If it's good, Parko or Jordy. If it's bad, Adriano.

Slater with the highest heat total round one looking sharp. Asing was looking like he was frothing. A bunch of power surfers winning their first heats...setting up to be a good contest!

Kinda bummed on it, forecast looked lame last time I checked. I understand contest timing and swells are difficult to predict but watching round one was, mehh. I hope a swell with offshores hits during the window so the best can show their stuff. Tired of Toledo or de Souza or now Keanu grinding out heats, they rip and all but I want to see Kelly and parko and Owen or dusty, Dane, or sea bass just throw down on overhead sets. Hope jjf gets healthy too.

Thanks for hooking a brother up! You getting any waves? Its a lake down here. I did see a couple spotted eagle rays out snorkeling, and taught my budddy's kid how to surf yesterday. I had to push his board towards shore and he popped up after the second try. So life is still good.
