    No question whether or not his life should be celebrated here. He influenced all of us whether we know it or not. Thank you Jay, Rest In Peace.

    Yesterday apparently...he was down in Mexico on a surf trip with his wife. Had a heart attack.

    Got a weird urge to go for a late night skate last night, glad I did.

    he's lucky he lived this long. Meth is horrible for your heart...and even if that doesn't kill you, supposedly, getting high on meth, only one time, exponentially increases your chances of getting Parkinson's disease. RIP

    dang. that really sucks. how on God's good Earth is Duane Peters still alive and Jay Adams dead? someone sequence Duane Peters' DNA to see what's going on there.
    oh well, he lived hard and fast. that's what happens kids. stay clean and eat your vegetables and what-not.

    Jay was the OG surf/skate/wildman. He had turned it around the last few years and wanted to help others avoid the pitfalls that robbed him of years of his life. I remember reading an interview in Surfing last year with Kalani David (surf & skate grom phenom) where he talked about avoiding Jay's mentorship because of Jay's Christianity. The greatest of a generation (and up there for all time) takes an interest in you and lock the door and hide in the closet until he leaves to avoid talking to him? I lost respect for that kid.
