Any one ever been? Or know someone who's been? This was sort of just a random thought I had watching the contest. But man, jbay even at like chest-HH looks like a dream wave. Just to humour myself I did some quick Google searches and it looks like a fairly inexpensive trip. Excluding airfare. Sure CR and PR are easy and cheap. Hell, I can stay in PR for free minus airfare. But to surf jbay would be a dream come true. Plus south Africa in general would be a cool trip. Not many world class waves I'd actually want to go. Pipe, no thank you. Chopes, not for me. Jbay, hell yeah. So anyone ever been? Or anyone ever been to any other world class break they'd suggest going to? Not planning on pulling the trigger on anything like this soon, just playing with ideas and thought it'd make a good discussion.
Certainly not saying that anything in El Salvador gets quite as epic as J-Bay. On the other hand, the right points get ridiculously good. 250 yard perfection, water and air warmer than Jbay, and a direct 5 hour flight from many major east coast cities.
