two wknds ago i got stung at folly on the leg. that's the same time they had +300 stings at IOP and there were a good bit at folly too. last wknd, didn't get hit at Sulli's - not surfing. last outing at Folly was early this week, wore a rashguard, but didn't feel one. still blowing on-shore, but i think the chances are minimal. would still throw a rashguard tho on if you're thinking IOP
roger thanks.. I tend to believe that lack of wave action increases their closeness to shore/wave/surf zone..as they tend to just float around and a week or so ago with all the stings the wave were really small .5 ft or less wave action has picked up recently
normally most sea life stay clear of me due to the amount of spray propduced when I smack the lip..but just in case there is a anti jellyfish sunscreen
I can vouch for SafeSea sunscreen. It's thick and gooey, and will give you a barrier from larval jelly fish aka sea lice, and moon jellys. I don't know if it works for man o war - I doubt it. But it does a great job keeping the sea lice off the privates. We've had a shit ton of Sargassum, but oddly, hardly any jellyfish in the mix. Strange.
so what...you think that last Hurricane pushed them in? I saw bad over there once but not like that. Maybe I saw 25 on the beach and we still paddled out. It's pretty freaky when one of those bastards floats by you.
