A friend was reading the recent thread concerning Jersey Bros and I thought I'd set the record straight.

So, a little info. I'm David McCarty, the filmmaker behind Jersey Bros. Most of what was said was accurate in that this is a film more about Jersey Surfers than Jersey Surfing. That said, the clips floating around were just random stuff. I'm not posting my film online before I release it.

To date, I have not yet released a trailer. Because of the nature of the film (there is a lot of interview footage), I wanted more footage to give the trailer a sense of scope. I may end up shooting specific scenes in order to create a trailer, though. I'm considering it.

I have been shooting all my surfing footage from land and even with good lenses, it's harder to make look great. I'm investing in underwater gear this Spring which will truly make a huge difference to the look of the film.

Finally, while I began filming friends and local spots, I've begun moving beyond South Jersey and have people coming out of the woodwork, asking me to come shoot their favorite spot, 70-year-old still surfing father, etc.... Plus I have several national sponsors interested in the film and I will be shooting many of their surfers.

Some names that I've shot or who have agreed to be shot for the film are: Dean Randazzo, Rob and Chris Kelly, Andrew Gesler, Jaime Moran, Sam Hammer....and others.

So for those concerned that the film will just be kooks on softtops, making Jersey look even worse, I assure you, it will not be. While I am not interested in making yet another surf porn, killer surfing on great waves is a must.

I heard that about a "Pleasant Surprise" too...shame the trailer looks good.
