No one is saying that this topic is forbidden, the question was asked by Wayne-so now all are free to speak their opinion about whether or not we want Jesus threads. Hardly Nazi-ism. Opinions should probably be given without disrespecting other peoples beliefs, but that is not a requirement.

Yes, by all means. How about a Jesus vs. Chuck Norris poll? Because neither one needs a board to catch waves - they just stand on the water in the lineup waiting for the set wave-of-the-day, and when it comes, turn around, calmly walk until they've matched speed with the wave, then surf on the soles (souls?) of their feet.

Also, Jesus vs. Gautama Buddha. GB rips on a bully surfboard, but can also surf boardless (remaining in the full lotus position on the beach, he surfs the waves in his head in his enlightened state).

I am seriously not mocking any religion or belief system. Humans have never done anything mockworthy.

Sure, you can talk about it. I'm going to do my thing as a free American and say that you are a nut job. What's your deal, man? I think it's known that if anyone wants some jeebus to go your way. Go surfing or something. JESUS!

Lets not forget Moses and history's longest tube ride ( The Red Sea).

Even if I do not agree, and think someones comments do not belong, no one is forcing me to read it. I can turn off the radio, the TV, the computer, and just dream of large perfect surf. With long lulls so I can paddle out with my hair dry. And only a couple of friends out so I can prove it happened. And there is nobody preaching their faith out there, or preaching on the beach.

But live and let live. Every one is entitled to express themselves. Thank God...oh no I said it again...I don't have to listen.

Floridasurfdog, YOU SHOULD go on religious sites and just start talking aboot surfing. Just pop up on some message board and start talking about NSP popouts and how that last swell was. That's good stuff right there.

Hey I've noticed an increase in the "Hey Zues" thang. That's my thing. I have it trademarked. Y'all owe me a dollar for each time you use it.

Now, I can't reveal this because it would make life too easy for y'all, and you wouldn't learn what you are supposed to from this life's journey.....

    But God is for real.

Yeah, yeah some Darwin chump and a big bang.....and we're the only intelligent beings in the entire solar system, and we evolved and nothing else did, and we are so special and we just appeared on this planet for no reason, and we watch American Idol nowadays to demostrate our sophistication............yeah yeah.........

Just trust me. There's an afterlife. So just remember that when you paddle out next to me and there's hundreds of yards of empty peaks around. Jesus hates crowds and republicans.

Ok, I admit it, that was a lame post, but ACDC rocks!

I believe the ocean is a spiritual place, and was raised Catholic. I think in your mind, Wayne, you are trying to do the right thing and it is better than the filth that is brainwashed into kids heads on MTV and the like, but after all the priest abuse scandals, it's hard for people not to think that it is just a lure for pedophelia.

Why not just say: Impacting the coast for a higher power, whomever yours' is.

Nothing self-righteous about it at all, just a very serious observation. I don't think that my opinions are more valid than those of anyone else. And, personally, I don't want to discuss religion on this site, nor will I. I just wonder why it is so hard for folks to simply ignore postings about topics you'd rather not discuss or with which you disagree? Why start shouting down someone (like Wayne) who has done you no harm? I don't get it.

My opinion is that this intolerance of opinion is quickly becoming one of our greatest problems, not just as a country, but as individuals who are just trying (or not) to get along.

You have a valid point BE. However, it doesn't seem that Wayne is saying ****, ****, ****, and ****, or anything that seems to be harmful to anyone. In fact, as offensive as Jesus may be to be to some people, it seems that Wayne is genuinely interested in helping people.

This begs the rhetorical question: Beyond the enforcement of certain established norms for non-offensive speech, where do we draw the line? At my personal opinion of allowable speech? At yours? At Yankee's??? Certainly not.

It all started with the invention of the interweb (thanks Al Gore). The internet has given every Tom D*ck and Harry a voice, a platform, a place to infect others with their beliefs. Before the internet people weren't so equipped to voice their opinions to the world, it was a much different time, now literally anybody with a keyboard and wifi access can spew their opinions and beliefs upon others. Then along came reality TV and social media, couple that all together and you have a recipe for narcissism, now everybody is walking around saying "look at me look at me, i'm important, i got stuff to say!"

You have no idea how many people, once I hear them mention SpongeBob Squarepants (it happens more often than you realize), I get them to YouTube it and they either crack up, or they look at me like I have three heads. I had two biker chicks rocking out to it just the other day. They knew all the lyrics by heart. The only problem is once I get that song going through my head, sometimes I just blurt it out in line at the bank or grocery store.

If we are having free speech for religious recruitment, then we need completely free speech. That includes four letter words.

1st it's like a car wreck, you don't want to look at the gore but somehow you turn your head and stare.

2nd The animosity stems from Wayne's thread on "Free Surfboards" and what many of us feel is a misleading attempt to bring others to his flock.

3rd was his thread on the revival and asking to quote favorite bible verses, then spewing ones of God threatening death an revenge for not following him. I am a Christian and do believe in God but do not take the bible as direct words of God. Case in point right now I am watch a show on History channel about the nostic gospels where Peter *****ed about the gospel of Mary Magdalen and why would Jesus tell her, a woman, things he would not tell them. The other disciples told Peter if the savior choose her to confide in who are they to contradict him? Well is the gospel of Mary in the bible? No it is not. My faith has a history of saying one thing then doing the exact opposite thing. Crusades anyone, hey if you don't convert then we will slaughter you.

So yeah most of us (supported by the poll numbers) are sick of this on a surf forum. Politics, sports and most of the other threads while not related to surfing do not cause the misery religious differences have over the centuries. Your comparison to the Nazi regime is pretty accurate description of the way Wayne seems to think of the church, follow us or die!

Also if as you say Wayne wants to help people then maybe he should start his own religious forum.
