This is not the time to be getting laid off. Grats on the new gig Fallingsky. My engineering firm shut it's door back in October, and there is absolutely ZERO engineering work in southern DE / Salisbury area. I lucked out and scored a job with the state, but i'm having to commute up to Dover each day. Either way, you are extremelly lucky to have found a replacement job close to home. I'm sure you already know that though!
Hey thanks a bunch!!!!! I know its been tough out there and offices in our field have been dropping like flies. We have been having just enough work to keep the doors open but we are down to 11 people for 50 two years ago. The connections I have made over the years have paid off!!!!!!!
I was saying this because it's extremelly hard to find a replacement job. Especially for most surfers, living in coastal areas, with a large large portion of local jobs tied directly to the housing industry. The other alternative for coastal jobs being tied to tourism such as restaurant / retail is also having huge problems atm. It's just a sad state of affairs. My commute is only about 35 miles, so I can't complain too much
Ahhh.. gotcha. Yeah, this is a crazy time for everyone... just hard to swallow it all. I just booked my ticket to Panama from March 3 to March 31.
