Trev, I would love to race you (sailing). Unfortunately I gots no blow-boats at the moment....

You pick the platform: Sunfish, Laser, Force5, JY-15, 420, Lightning, International 14, J-22, J-24 or any size Hobie Cat. Single-handed only, 10+ knots. I'm sure you have experience on at least a couple of those.

I hear ya about money, some of these can cost a fortune, for your 1st one i'd recommend SUPatx, they shape em out of TX (made in USA), they deliver it too you for FREE (same day shipping), carbon fiber paddle included for as little as $635 - 985 right now, they will cut the paddle specific to your height. Good quality boards but won't cost you an arm and a leg. Once you get the hang of it you will probably want something a little nicer, but mine is holding up really well and is still a blast. I want a shorter more perfomance oriented board next, but I just got a new shortboard so I gotta wait a little while for my text toy.

You can single-hand a Lightning? You must have 4 arms.

Can I get in on this SI regatta? JYs and Lasers are my steez.

Anytime man, here's a link if you are interested, http://www.supatx.com/, they use EPS Foam so they are actually pretty light but durable. Maybe 25lbs depending which model you go with.

Argggh, the people who get lucky drive me a nutty. Some dork from Seattle or whatever starts a blog, like every other boring douche in the world, complaining aboot friggin Pacific Northwest coffee customers, and now has a book deal. First of all, they're Washington people. What kind of hijinks or confrontations could come from that state? A bunch of twig eatin', neo hippies, talking aboot peace, love and changing the world as they wear NIKE sneakers and kid themselves that Whole Foods Market isn't a global, profit-driven company.

I saw some chick I went to high school with has a blog...........aboot her family and kids. Who F'ing cares aboot her family and kids? All of these blogs got to go, man. Please stop it. Just friggin stop it. This new tech world has made it possible for every boring SOB to air their "story" in a public arena. It has made no-talent morons uber celebrities in the "music" business. Who's that Korean guy? Psy or something? Really? Really? It's created Justin Beiber, and street thugs who use computers to "create" their music, and then think their third grade poetry is special.

Ok class, who can name some words that rhyme with, "gun?" Do that aboot ten times and you got a hit.

DLouren I posted your quote, but this has nothing to do with you. So don't take it the wrong way and get bent.

And oh, it is better to be an older dude before you start writing. Young people just don't know enough. They think they do, but we've all been there before. Live a little, and then worry aboot writing. Just don't pull a Bon Scott, Trevolution before then............or a John Bonham.......shoot did I spell his name right?

haha Paddington I am with you on the music thing... I was a 90s kid and cant believe the crap that kids are listening to these days. I know its cliché, but I have trouble calling a lot of the synthesized beats and third grade poetry music. I call it a bad influence on kids. gotta get some more garage bands going again - that's how nirvana/foo fighters came about.

Haha, it would be more for the comedy factor. How about single-handing an International 14!?!?!?!? Now that would be some funny chitt to watch.

dl: Did you sail in college? If it was from 97-2001, we may have sailed against each other.

I prefer the Hobie 16. Seldom: yes, let's make it some fun and do it in 20+ knts, no reefing the main allowed.

I'm not too familiar with the International 14. I would have a field day working that jib. I wish my college had a sailing team. I think someone was trying to start a team my senior year, but nothing came out of it. Not too much nautical action going down in Farmville, VA these days. We did have some killer mountain bike trails though. I would bust out the 29er and go Gary Fisher all over the place.

Hobie 16. Name a time & place. I'm going to hike out like I'm climbing Everest.

Right on dude, that Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, STP, Soundgarden, era was the last relevant period of popular music. The last.

I know alot of surfers like the indie thing(why I don't know), but really these groups of this era(1990's) were the last good thing out there. People tend to like indie stuff because they think it's makes them cool because it's obscure. But if any of these bands were really any good they'd be huge, especially considering the void of good music that exists today that actually boosts lame groups like Maroon 5 to promenance because THERE JUST ISN'T ANYTHING GOOD OUT THERE THESE DAYS.

Ahh man Rush is quaint and b!tchen. Permanent Waves, man and Signals just top notch stuff.

Trevolution: watch out for the brown acid; don't drink too much or you might get sexually assaulted; and God I hope a hippy-plowing vehicle doesn't ram y'all and play Slayer over the PA system. Yes, that was a friggin South Park reference. College hippies are awesome. They're cute, ain't they? Talking about the governement and evil corporations.......listening to Phish...........This is a little dated but, "Hey man, did you get the new Blues Traveler album, man?"
