O.K so this is this first time I've had to deal with a Kayak in the same area.
I paddle out on the long board and the surf is maybe waist high and that's better than I expected. After about an hour some dude in a kayak launches from the beach and I was impressed he made it through the break, then really impressed at the success he had riding waves doing 360,s and generally having a great time. I don't know that I'm complaining that he was in the way or just a distraction or It just might be he caught more waves than I did. On the way home I felt a little pissed that at times he was in the way and at one point almost ran over one of my buddies who raised all kinds of hell with him.

I never said anything, so I was wondering what you all might have to say about this... ?
anyway still had a fun day.

Bear or bare way for kayakers.......

We don't have the same control as you surf boardin dudes. And that means we are cooler because we are at the wave's mercy.
I like how a kayaker was in youse guys' way, but when you were in his way it's his fault ........."Almost ran my boy over....."

Man when we are out there we are just doing it, man. No control..........and that's the beauty of it all.

Purely instinctual........I don't proof read or edit posts on surf predictin websites. Plus, I can write in the Queen's English but on things like this I write like I would speak to y'all.

And ...........I lived in North Carolina, so I'm allowed to say "y'all"
I'm from New Jersey so I can say, "Youse guys."
And I was romatically involved with a Canadian gal, and have been to Nova Scotia twice and Edmonton, AB a few times so I can say, "aboot."

I have been influenced by different geographical locations, and that's why I'm so confused.

Once I was heading down the line and what I learned was a Goatboat to australians but I just thought was a lame surfboard inspired kayak tried to roll upside down to get under the wave and I did a rail slide over the bottom of his board and kept going. Didnt plan it but it made me laugh.

ripping on a yak is cool and probably really fun... Paddling out on a yak in to a crowd is a **** move.

Sounds like from your description that he was inconsiderate of what was happening around him.

Btw waist high? Best we did yesterday central FL was thigh high. Ok, maybe a set of waist high about every 20 mins. Jealous here :)

Nahhh man, I was just funnin' around. I don't kayak. Kayakers should not paddle into a pack for it is rude and potentially hazardous.

I don't particularly have anything against kayakers, but some of them bring their game where they shouldn't.

Goodvibes: So you are from North Jersey and don't say "Youse guys?" I don't know, man. I think you might......sometimes.......once in a while. Anyway the Philly/South Jersey accent is pretty bad, but the North Jersey/New York accent is worse........and the Boston accent is atrocious(it's cute for a moment when you mimick it but...).

There is nothing worse than hearing loud mouthed Philly or New York "towny" chicks schreeching with that voice. I think the southern contingent on here will agree with that.......

Hey Goodvibes, don't you owe me breakfast someday down-the-road? Get us some fried po-taters.

I was out in VB yesterday in similar conditions with a guy on a kayak who knew what he was doing. He stayed away from guys surfing and caught a lot of waves. I'm cool with that. He was having fun in his own way. The kook on the SUP in the middle of the line up with know clue how to use the thing was the problem.

You could pretty much fill in the blank with whatever you wanted right there. I've been out at spots where there's been every type of craft in the water... surfers, spongers, yakers, surf skiers, SUPers..., everybody's getting waves, and everybody's having fun... a real kum ba yah session. I have very fond memories of this spot, and it would be great if that's the way it was everywhere.

But it's just not, for whatever reason. Monday morning there was a crew of about 8 or 9 local guys, and this dude on a SUP comes paddling up. He picks off a few from WAY outside and gets these great rides, all the way through to the beach. Amazing. But then he just went too far. Next thing you know everybody's barkin'... one dude said something about breaking his paddle... turned into a real sh!t show. The poor guy ended up getting yelled out of the water. The whole thing sent me down to the next peak, too. I just couldn't take it, but I guess that's what you get.

Everybody knows it was breaking EVERYWHERE that morning. This dude couldn't go find his own peak and live in the moment? Had the guy ripped a few, then kept paddling up the beach, everybody would have been, like, "wow... that dude RIPS on that thing!" Instead, everybody was like, "wow... that dude's an A$$HOLE!"
