    ^^^^^^^^^^^Not cool.

Like others have said, no problem w/ whatever people ride provided they're abiding by the rules that we all do, problem w/ yaks, and SUPs, is that they're so damn big that when they do drop in the sheer size alone makes the situation that much more dangerous...getting sliced is one thing, getting knocked out in the impact is a whole different story.

I have only been out with a yakker one time, and that guy seemed polite. In my opinion, I have found young short boarders to be the rudest around this area. They seem to be HS kids, and surf in packs. They will catch any wave they see, and don't care if they get into your personal space. Most of the guys I surf around are on noseriders and always seem polite. I don't care what you ride, as long as you are polite and respect the order.

I don't have no problem with any craft. Yeah, it's all aboot the person.

But the few kayakers I have seen tend to be inexperienced and they paddle out right amongst the most crowded peak. I reckon those things can be quite uncontrollable, so it's being pretty inconsiderate to place themselves in the abyss.

And forget the craft.........why, why oh why do people pack together? Most swells there's waves everywhere, and most swells things constantly change in the beachbreak realm. That peak down the beach that looks so-so could start firing in 30 minutes with a shift in tides and all.

I swear to youse guys and gals that you will win more often than not by just finding a lonesome peak. I mean, how many times is the conditions different than what you view from the beach. Just paddle out lonesome and the ocean will take care of you. Besides, Andrew Gessler deserves that peak off the jetty, not you. He's sponsored and a barrier island hero.

OH SNAP, I do harbor resentment to a certain "craft." Jet Skiers..........the ones who ride waves. Ahh man, they are the worst. They pop up every fall around my joint. Usually they do keep a distance but still. RRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRR exhaust fumes....RRRRRRR RRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRR more exhaust fumes.........

Hmmmm.... Reminds me of a story, something like..... "Nobody Owes You Anything!" Just kidding, as long as everybody keeps a safe distance from each other, there should be no problem with whatever anybody rides, as long as it's not endangering anybody anymore than they already are by being in the water in the 1st place.

I haven't been on the SUP a whole lot as of late, just been having too much fun on my Coil and LB to wanna lug that thing around, sure i'll give it a go here and there when the wind is light and surf is weak, but that's about it. It's definitely going to get more attention through the flat spells and knee high days coming ahead though. My point is, everything has it's place i guess.

I wouldn't get too frustrated at the guy if it wasn't too crowded, either party could easily move to another peak, with as much coast line as we have, there is no reason to crowd around the same spot with every Tom D*ck and Harry, that's what cracks me up about crowds down here, rarely do I particpate in them, because we simply don't have to, way too many options to subject ourselves to that.

Was that south of the pier? I talked to the kayaker for a bit on my way in. He seemed pretty cool to me. Had a few decent rides too. The SUPer on the other hand......isn't there some sand on the bike path that he should be sweeping up.

IMO the experienced guys on SUPs need to lecture the new guys and call them out if they are somehow being a danger to everyone in the water.

I saw a dude out on a kayak in RI sunday morning and he was very capable. Much more in control than most of the surfers. ride whatever you want, just respect others.

+1, I find nothing wrong with this... except I don't know about "lecturing" them per say. I'm more than willing to offer a helpful word of advice if I see someone doing something wrong, usually they are doing w/e they are doing out of ignorance, not because they are just being a d*ck, so as one of the more experienced guys on an SUP I find it my duty to help a brotha out if I see someone struggling with their craft.

Same goes for the other crafts in the water though, not just SUP. So short boarders, LB's, everybody, police your own if you want it both ways. It's always about HOW you say something to someone though, don't just paddle by and say something snarky like 99% of people do out there and end up getting the opposite desired reaction. Saying something like "WTF was that about" is NOT going to get positive results, let me just put that out there, I hear this and it's like you're asking me if I want to fight. If you aren't 100% sure you can kick someone's ass then you should probably keep any "lecturing" to yourself.

although not often, I have been out with kayakers a few times. Only once did a kayaker keep his distance and do his own thing, all other times they have been right in the mix with us surfers and not exactly following proper etiquette. Still it doesn't really bother me because ill just move down to another peak (just last week there were about 20 guys out on one peak all paddle battling each other and getting in each others way, I surfed the next peak over alone with my buddy. I don't get the pack mentality either) Any way it seems to be the guys who are oblivious to there surrounding that have problems with the kayakers. If the kayaker isn't following the rules, I wont put myself in the situation where there's even a chance I get dropped in on. By moving down the beach
