Dude, thats a lot of eating...

Like I said, I dont really eat before a surf, but I grub down afterwards... Crispy FIsh tacos and a nice tall gatorade after a session. Thats refueling. Or Jack in the Box.... Which ever mexican or fast food place I pass first is getting my business after a session. Boy, I eat healthy... And a night cap off the taco bell value menu primes me for the next days session. Its called the super healthy, uber sick pro-surf diet. I think I will make a training DVD about this. Shoot, Wendys value menu is on point these days too. Dont sleep on them.

Sounds like you are eating some real quality food there Zach. I would reconsider some of those foods. You will thank yourself later in life. Btw - That's some of the worst stuff you can put in your body.

You are what you eat....remember that.

And Taco Bell is rated the worst when it comes to fast food chains. Can't get much worse than that. :D

I personally wouldn't believe everything that a multibillion dollar beverage corporation tells you, especially when it comes to my health. If you know what I mean.

All this talk of Gatorade.. Sure it says it keeps you hydrated, but its really pretty bad for you... Its loaded with sugar and salt, all sorts of chemicals and food dyes. If you want to stay hydrated the only thing to be drinking is water. Don't worry about sodium intake, especially those of you who eat processed foods, your probably getting way more of it than you need.

Bottom line.. If you are any sort of health conscious, drop the Gatorade!!! Water is all you need!!

Your also probably not staying hydrated because because of vitamin deficiencies. Taking a good multi vitamin will help you. A body that got all the nutrients it needs will retain water much better than one that is deficient of nutrients...

(Edit) Are you kidding me Zach... Taco Bell?? Fast Foods?? There is the answer to your problem!!! I bet you have diarrhea like everyday!!! You probably **** your pants at night!!!

I read that Jerry Lopez and his buddies wear them now when their out in the big stuff and especially when they surf in Indo.... I wouldnt consider them dumb whatsoever. Surf gear companies make them specifically for surfers now. I'd like to see a surfboard made with a hydration system built into the board.

Gatorade IS full of sugar....which spike's your insulin. Which IS good for your muscles. Charging a Gatorade right after a sesh is a win. I actually take it to another level though. I take this stuff from the vitamin shoppe called "Dark Matter" don't knock the name...It's a post workout drink...made by MHP...It actually repairs your muscles from soreness and is loaded with BCAA's and other goodies. You don't get sore from this stuff and it really increases your stamina and strength. If you charge one of these drinks right after a sesh it all goes directly to the muscles used when surfing. I have been using it for a few months.... now my paddle is way stronger...my legs power me though turns better....It's really great NOT to be sore. after a 3-4 hour sesh. Plus, I can out paddle a lot of people.
