your on big island oipaul, think about how they send all the electric from most of the wind turbines and such to oahu, then your local electric bill is insane because its imported in from oahu itself. There is no way it is all going to China. They buy some of our oil, but we are still the global leaders in energy consumption.

We don't export anywhere near the top countries in the world (countries much closer to China and with a weaker currency).

I work for the Germans. I have said this many times, and I can give you a lesson in diesel engine technology if you want proof of my background. My previous job was in the petroleum chemical industry, so I did know a fair amount about market trends, oil production, and transportation. My company would actually chemically treat fuel on ships being sent from other countries. Most of the ship traffic was coming into this country. I am not trolling anything. I am interrupting your made up stories with factual information, backed up with data. I know the thing that the conspiracy group hates the most is factual information presented with verifiable data. It destroys their world.
As for the original topic, I don't like the idea of the keystone pipeline. If it were up to me, the oil companies would be responsible for every drop leaked out of every pipe in this country (and there are many of them: http://www.pipeline101.com/overview/images/ProductsMap.gif). I don't know how to push the government to actually grow some balls in this industry. The EPA is worthless, when it comes to regulating oil transport.

ALL oil production/consumption has a net effect that is bad for the environment. We fire up our cars,computers, heating and AC etc. and then look at everyone else to blame. I bet your surfboard has some compounds that are bad for the environment...

there are pros and cons when it comes to keystone and il tell u why it was never built.

not because its potential could pollute the biggest river in America,the mississipi,it wasn't built because warren buffet owns the freightliners that ship the oil.if they built the pipeline,buffet would be out of business,and considering hes one of the most powerful people on earth that u probably never heard of,i don't see it built anytime soon.

and if it was built,the potential for environmental terror is great.i guess a lot of people who support fracking,and companies like bp have no idea how oil is delivered from the ground.it is not the greatest thing on earth,who needs energy.

u know that whole bp oil spill in the gulf was the worst man made disaster in earths history,instead Halliburton covered up for them,they paid a small fine,which is like a seatbelt ticket to them,and now they are drilling more in the gulf and building new platforms.its like this.if u gave a gun to someone,and they killed thousands of people and u finally caught them,instead of putting them in jail,lets give them all the guns he wants and let him choose where he would like to fire at people without getting in trouble.
