I don't have a solid opinion on this one. I hate connor, hate that alot of people say he's the goat without any question. So naturally I'm rooting against him. But i havnt seen kahbib fight much and from what i have seen.... not to sure. Should be a fun one regardless. Kahbib does have the tools to possibly pull it off, but getting himself into position to use those tools seems like it'll be a problem. On the other hand connor hasn't fought in awhile. Guess we will see. By the way, I'm seeing alot of connor fans saying kahbib has a glass chin..... guys undefeated and hasn't been KOd. Maybe his chin hasn't been tested, but how can you call it glass? This is why i root against connor. I think alot of my dislike for him comes from his fans.
"I could go into heavy detail.......AND I WILL GO INTO HEAVY DETAIL" I can't stand Conner but the guy is a world class shit talker lol.
Ah, this is all smoke and mirrors, like "Professional" wrestling. Cassius Clay. Now that was a fighter.... What he did to Sonny Liston!? Ew eee. What about Rocky Marciano? How come every time we talk about boxing a white man has to bring up Rocky Marciano?
Yeah, anybody who claims Kabib has a glass chin is retarted. You can’t gave a glass chin and be undefeated at the same time. That said, I think he’s too slow for Conor. He will have to take him down if he wants to win. If he decides to stand or if he can’t get Conor on the ground then I don’t see how he can win. But a fight is a fight, and it only takes one good punch to end it. So we will see. I think Conor is simply the better fighter and should out class him. I see Kabib getting caught shooting in for a take down.
Lol, what about Vinnie Paz? He's a legend in RI, as much for his arrests and barroom antics as for boxing. I did really like him in the early 90's, even had the Penthouse with his wife posing in it. Still haven't seen the movie about him yet.
Haha this time I completly agree with you. I don't see kahbib standing with him, not from what very little iv seen from kahbib. If kahbib can get him down things definitely change. I think connor would gas much sooner than kahbib on the ground. If he can take him down out the gate and keep him there for the first round.... whole diffrent story. And that'd be smart. Then he'd have a better chance standing with him. But even then... To be honest I don't get the hype around this fight. I see it being quite boring/one sided....
Wow, Kabib won the fight (rear naked choke) but acted like a thug afterwards. So dumb. He jumped out of the octagon and attacked Conor’s BJJ coach and started a brawl in the crowd. Then Kabib’s teammates jumped in the octagon and hit Conor with some cheap shots. Where the F was security? Holy crap that was the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen. 3 of Kabib’s teammates got arrested. I’m sure he’ll get suspended, possibly stripped of the title, and they may even lose their passport into the US.
Not saying it was called for or should of happened. Unprofessional for sure. But i sort of get it. The trash talk leading up to this fight went a bit beyond "trash talk". Wondering what Connors guy was saying to kahbib after the fight to make him jump out of the cage at him. All that drama aside, that was a really good fight. Kahbib did exactly what i thought he needed to do. Im not surprised he completly dominated on the ground. But getting there, the short amount of time that they were standing, he did pretty good. I didn't think it'd be that easy for him. Not that its "easy" but at no time was he really in danger of losing. Pretty impressive.
Connor got dominated. This is turning into WWF. Don't get me wrong - I was entertained (undercard was awesome)
Pre-fight trash talk AKA hype is all part of selling the fight to get viewers. He should thank Conor for that because it made them both a lot of money. Notice how Conor is usually a good sport after his fights, win or lose he is always willing to shake hands after and say “good knock”. Kabib has to understand how the promotion side of things work and to not take it personal after the fight is over. It’s all business. As far as the fight goes. Conor looked rusty and Kabib looked solid. I thought Conor may be able to stay off his back after stuffing the first take down but the constant pressure wore on him as it does everybody. He also didn’t respect the hands of Kabib and ended up getting dropped once because of it. Good fight for Kabib, not Conor’s best performance. I always wonder how all that money and arrival of children will affect a fighter. I think that has a little to do with it. I imagine it’s hard to stay hungry at that stage. But no excuse, he got beat.
Fight of the night was Anthony Pettis and Tony Ferguson IMO, it was a blood bath! Most entertaining moment was Derrick Lewis knocking out Volkov just before the end of the fight after losing the 1st two rounds. Then the post fight interview when he took his shorts off because “his was balls is hot”, and then the rest of his interview with Joe Rogan was hilarious. Dude is naturally funny!
