Yeah I saw some of what his coach said. “We trained not to lose, instead of training to win” I think was the moral of the story. That would be a first. He didn’t do that against Chad Mendes, who is also a great take down artist. He got taken down in that fight but he was able to connect a nice knee to the chops on one of those take down attempts which led to the finish. I was hoping he could do that again with Kabib.

I really hate seeing guys dive at fighters feet and hang on till he gets him down. I just don’t like that style of fighting, but that’s just me. Now don’t take that the wrong way. I do enjoy a solid grappling technique, but I want to see a nice Judo throw or scoop a dude up and slam him, something more powerful or explosive. When I see Kabib on all fours grabbing feet and ankles I’m thinking why doesn’t he just stomp his f’ing head lol (I know it’s illegal).

I actually 100% agree with you on that. That might be why im not a kahbib fan. He definitely impressed me, but not really a fan. Although with how good he is, you can't really blame him haha.

Minor point of contention here, not being a dick, but that most certainly was a choke/neck crank. Not all chokes need to be sunk under the chin, and some will start popping your neck if they're not cutting off circulation. He would've suffered serious injury had he not tapped.

At least have some technical knowledge for F's sake.

I actually mentioned that it was more of a neck crank earlier in thread. At least learn to read for F sakes. I can do this all day. Hooked on Phonics would be a good start before you try schooling someone.

Here’s the post in case you missed it.

As if I'd read through pages of you pontificating for your own reading pleasure dude, aside from the fact that you're contradicting yourself bt the two posts. It's either a sub or it isn't. Point is, it's not a matter of giving up or discomfort, subs are subs for a reason, bc they break things. Maybe you should learn a couple neck cranks and experience them first hand before you blather on about shit you know very little about.

I'd happily school you with my brain or hands.

You guys see the fedor sonnen fight? Iv always been a huge fedor fan back when he was in his prime. Obviously he's older now and should probably just stop fighting. But they both looked pretty good for their age. Quick fight but some good transitions in a short amount of time. Alot of times you see the older guys fight they look slow and sloppy and just bad. Was impressed by both of them, put on a good show for older fighters. Plus i love seeing my man fedor win.

Yeah it was a decent fight. Sonnen use to fight at 185 and 205, so he was fighting a heavy weight last night and a hard hitter at that. Fedor looked solid.

I'm glad Fedor kicked Sonnen's ass, can't stand Sonnen more then I can't stand the idiotic Irishman, both need a couple more ass whoppin's, might make them quit...little harsh I know, just can't stand the loud mouthed trash talking. Take a look after both of their matches.....humbled for sure.

Did you see Fedor 15 yrs. ago...look him up on YouTube, he has slowed down a bit, still has plenty of power, it just looked like he didn't want anything to do on the mat, whereas 15 yrs. ago that would have been no problem, just trying to say he was unbeatable back the day. Bader might even have a problem with Fedor, but Bader is a badass to....should be a fight not to miss.

Yeah i’ve seen most of his fights, all his Pride fights, plus StrikeForce, and now Bellator. He has done well in those organization. Although, he never wanted any of the UFC. He was offered tons of money to fight Lesnar, Cain, Coutore, and others and never wanted it so it’s hard for me to say he’s the GOAT at heavyweight, but he’s up there for sure, because he’s an undersized chubby Heavyweight who drops bombs and was dangerous on the mat too. He finished fights which I like. He’s definitely not as good today though, age does that.

He had some bad losses like when Bigfoot Silva crushed him, or getting KO’d by a middle weight in Dan Henderson. Sure Hendo fought at 205 at times, but he was a natural middle weight at 185. That says a lot about the power of Hendo lol

But yeah, Fedor was / is good for the sport. I enjoy his fights, win or lose. I’d like to see him fight DC in a co-promotion with the UFC. That would be a big seller!

Sonnen talks himself into getting huge paychecks, and he doesn’t really care if he loses anymore, so he gets paid to lose basically.

DP, not for nothing but in his prime fedor was undefeated. Sure he didn't want anything to do with the UFC. But two thoughts. 1) back in the day pride definitely had more talent. Alot of those guys went to the UFC. Point being just because he fought in pride and never in UFC doesn't mean diddly. If someone fought in UFC but not pride this point wouldn't even be coming up. With that being said the whole GOAT discussion is kinda silly. There will never be a clear GOAT. It's all opinion. Point 2) i say this half jokingly, but serious at the same time. I don't blame him for not wanting the UFC. It's kinda a joke as we've discussed in this thread. Special treatment to certain fighters. Lesnar in general is a joke. I wouldn't want to be part of that circus either.

And fl.surfdog.....i feel the same way about sonnen and connor. But it was kinda cool to hear sonnen after the fight talking to that ariel guy. He was like yeah he hit me hard and it hurt. Then he was talking about the finish and was like yeaaah i didn't think they would end it cause i was covering up but after seeing the footage i get it. I curled up like a turtle. In my head i was doing much more. Still don't like him but at least he was just like yeah i got beat. No excuses. I can dig that

Yeah but a lot of the guys he fought were cans too. Not all but many were not top tier fighters compared to other people he could have been fighting. And btw, most of those offers from the UFC was after Pride got bought out by the UFC. Most of the guys on the Pride roster came over to the UFC, and many of them didn’t do so well. Some did, like Shogun. But I could go down the list of guys who were great in Pride, but sucked in UFC. It’s a bigger stage, and that brings out the best in fighters, or some shrink in the spotlight.
