Once a good parent, always a good parent.
Once a life guard, always a life guard.

You guys with young kids will find you will always be watching for "strays."
I've pulled more than a few kids out of pools on duty and off duty, and out of the ocean always off duty.
So many people go to the beach with no idea of what the ocean is...

^x1mil...if your kid can't handle the surf or can't swim a few hundred yards continuously, they probably shouldn't be out. lifejackets won't do d!ck with an undertow or rip....

get him to join a swim club...if you live in the south or where they have them join a summer league at least

sorry. you do not build endurance in swim lessons. that's why it's called LESSONS.

also, with better endurance comes better form.

in regards to big wave surfing,i asked a famous big wave surfer about the life jacket thing.this doesn't apply to your beachbreak btw.

anyway I asked the guy isn't it more dangerous with a life jacket on,u know taking sets on the head, not being able to dive.

and he made a pretty good point.surfing big waves are usually spots far from land, like quarter mile out or so,and when u wipe out,you want the whitewater to blast you to the beach.

also the leash thing in big surf, some don't want to where leashes, but its not about losing your board or not letting your board hit somebody in the head, its so u can climb your leash when ur pushed 30 ft deep.i actually have a genius solution for the big wave leash problem, too bad I don't know the right people to get the thing made.sheit if I could get shane dorian to wear the thing I would be a thousandaire
