I know I'm not the only one who has heard the dumbest things come out of people's mouths. Whatcha got? One summer night I was standing next to a dad thinking he's helping his kids by telling them that the water gets warmer at night time, and that surfers only go out when its rough. The other night, somebody told me they like longer leashes than normal because they don't want to drag their board on the water when they fall off , and then they took back the phrase "fall off" and replaced it with "wipe out" to make it clearly more authentic.
One day(the best day I saw) of the Leslie swell, 9/9 I believe, I'm walking back to my truck, happy after a day of solid 4-6' barrels. There's a woman on the phone talking about the conditions, clealrly talking to someone in the same state, and she says "oh it's 15 feet down here"...needless to say I nearly pissed myself.
^ no ****! That just reminds me of a week ago when wblive called a waist-chest day a shoulder-overhead day and 4 logos on the "fun factor". Cracks me up every time. Come get your wax guys!
That's funny you mention that. It is about what you compare it to and I'm pretty sure one of the girls did the report for Sweetwater that morning.
HaHa, not surprised, plus most people who surf or pretend to surf like to embellish on how big it is, it's always cooler if it's HH+, and if it's a surf report for a local shop it always draws more business to the shop when the waves are bigger, which is really their goal in the 1st place. Gotta push those wax and leash sales!!!
