    So I was at my lady friend's place last night and we settled down to watch some tee vee. I don't have cable(by choice, I'm not that poor) so I'm not up to date w/ commercials and such. Next thing ya know, I hear the words "tow in surfing", so I look to the screen and there's Laird on a bomb. Then before I can process what's going on, I realize that I'm watching a mazda commercial. Idk, I get it, we all need to make a buck, but I mean come on Laird. I've made choices in my life that have resulted in less money but more happiness, and I kinda thought that's a part of what all this is about. Thoughts? Anyone else see this?

    Remember "Slade"?
    I dont love it, but its better than selling junk bonds or mortgage swaps. Wait, I take that back. Its all just selling junk. SHAME ON EVERYONE.

    Cmon man, your telling me that you would turn down a chance to make a few thousand doing nothing?!?!?!? Get real. Family always comes first and families need cash, lots of it.

    Laird isn't selling cars.
    The car company is using Laird video to sell cars.
    Laird's work is surfing, and he probably has some sort of agent trying to sell his product, which is big wave surfing footage.

    Wouldn't you rather see Laird in commercials then Lebron James?

    Would much rather see Laird than some basketball or football player, and I get the whole make a few thousand for doing nothing angle. It was honestly the last thing I expected to see on a tv commercial, that's all.

    It's not like he is in a used car lot hawking cars. They probably paid him a nice chunk of change to use some of his stock footage. I say, why not. Long live Lance Burkhart.

    Do pay attention, Bond.

    Shane Dorian...Honda; Laird...Mazda; Mick Fanning...Ford (in Aus); even Kalani...Arby's;

    It's happening on TV's everywhere. Brands are pushing the 'surfing lifestyle' around every corner...

    I've seen the commercial, it's not too bad. At least he's not talking or anything, trying to do his best to sound like the Shamwow guy. Could be worse!

    Laird's already got a net worth of $15 million dollars (and lives on the beach in hawaii), so he definitely doesn't need the money...his agent might

    ^^^Didn't know how set he was, but kinda figured at this point he wouldn't need the money, which is what kinda prompted my question.

    this title is misleading and disappointing. I was expecting to hear about a "Laird Hamilton Ford" dealership or something.
