Hey all, going to be at my folks' place in LI for the entire Thanksgiving week. Haven't surfed there in about 10 or 11 years and was wondering if you all could point me in the right direction of some decent surfing areas.

Back when I lived there my two most frequented spots were Robert Moses and Democrat Point, but I have no idea if these places still work like they used to a decade ago. Any thoughts? Should I just head east to Montauk?

I love Montauk and would definitely go out there, but you wont need to. There's plenty of good waves(if there's swell) from LB to Moses.

Agreed. If Montauk isnt to far out of the way I'd go there. They are dredging at gilgo as we speak and are supposed to keep moving west till they hit Jones beach I believe so id keep that in mind. Long beach has been my go to

The SI meet ups look like they're relocating from Deal to Rhodey so you may want to hop on the ferry to Westerly/PJ if there's some punch in the waves.
