Now that we have had a full year without Harvey Cedars on LBI. I have come to the conclusion that LBI is now an average at best place for surf. Anyone agree/disagree?

It was a cock fighting stadium...what the heck do think it was? It was a spot that people in that are know very well.

I remember ol Harvey and that is a shame.....wonder how long it will take until it works again.....or they might keep up the replenishment so nothing comes back.....like most of DE (excluding NS)....sniffer see beach replenishment poll thread

they did that replenishment awhile ago didn't they... i thought it was at least three or four years... and i disagree, you can still find some nice breaks on the island... you just gotta get your beach buggy pass and driveeeeeeeeeeeee

Yes there are still some good breaks ecspecially on the south side of the island. But Cedars made LBI exceptionally good.

i got turned off from LBI from an experience i had many years ago.

I drove up from delaware, arrived at Harvey Cedars, where my car broke down right in front of the beach. So, i got my car out of the road by pushing it in this empty driveway and then called AAA to get it towed to a garage.

So, as I am waiting for the AAA, the police cam and were yelling at my and said they were going to give me a ticket for parking in someone's driveway. Made a real big deal about it, like i was some delinquint just because I was a surfer. Really pissed me off... Here am I, about 100 miles from home, my car breaks down, and the cops are totally giving me **** for moving my car out the middle of the road.

The was the last time I've been to LBI.

only after labor day and up until memorial day weekend I'm pretty sure. Whenever I'm down during the fall I always see fishermen set up with their cars

i was in harvey cedars a couple weeks ago and saw a whale. it came real close to the beach. it prob would not have come so close had it not been for the water being so deep right there

Lol, you're right. Cedars was the only good break on the island. It's gone now, so looks like you have to go somewhere else.

I have been surfing LBI for about 10 years and I can guarantee you that now that cedars is gone, there are absolutely no surfable waves left on the entire island. Except for this one:

im not from lbi but i went there two weekends in a row now for a day each time, and i scored perfect waves there last weekend. and not a person was in sight. everywhere dumped and this spot was so perfect and sick. and nope im not telling where it is, it needs a certian swell to go off and i got real lucky
