Not a leash for NJ either , but PR is short plane trip for you . The premier big wave spot has a very long swim

That spot you refer to, I used to go out there when 15-16 years old, on a longboard (9'6 Con, Steve Bigler model), no leash.
We swam more than we surfed, but it was worth it!! Now, at that age, we carefully picked our days--12 to 14 was okay--anything bigger, go smoke some weed and grab my american wahine for a ride in the bushes. Glory days....

Ha! Sounds like me with the leaches! A majory of mine are very old- but the Velcro still seems good! I’m pretty sure I have an old poor boy leash too which I always thought seemed fairly solid for how cheap it is...

Anyways- if your really cheap like me and you want to repair the leash and make it good- some of the swivels are interchangeable and held in place with a screw - same kinda screw as an fcs fin screw... so if you got a really old leash you may be able to get that poor boy back in the water with replacing the swivel!

Anyways- I agree with the same size leash with board length rule of thumb. Specially with LB so you can nose ride. And also as LBcrew mentioned- longer leash on big days. I have used my longboard leach on some heavy days and was happy I did.. they also tend to be thicker.

Yea... welll... I’m cheap and I gotta family to support!

So I went down in my basement to check if I do have a poor boy leash- and I was wrong! It’s a ‘stay covered’ brand?!? I don’t even remember buying it.

Anyways-I came across this gem- a leash repair that I did with zip ties... thing has actually held together for a long time (years)! Keep in mind, it’s not my only leash...

Im not. Phoockers should indeed buy a new leash instead twisting what is left of their brains into repairing a piece of plastic.
So, surfers are not only morons, they are cheap morons, frugal maggots....

    yeah I guess, I don't know.

"throw down" is gun nut talk, like in the crappy tv shows where the bad guy runs out of bullets and then throws the empty gun at you

I used to buy all my leashes in Florida at Cocoa Beach Surf Co. You could get any leash you wanted for like $9. Yea, they didnt have a big name logo on them but they were perfectly fine. Same with Wetsuit tops. Off brand = cheap prices, same quality. Cheaper than bro prices at local shop
