is there a certain height your boart has to be in order to attaché the leashe below the knee cap instead of the ankle?

    Asking for a friend

I ride a 9’6 with around the ankle...but I ride it lije a short board lol.

If you are walking the nose proper, I guess you would with any board you “can” walk the nose proper...

I can walk the nose but rarely proper lol!

I let someone talk me into a calf leash. Hated it. Gave it away.

I bought a creatures knee leash for my 9’6”. Seems like a nice set up, but I haven’t messed with it yet. Just leashless for now in the small soup.

I’d think midlengths at minimum? Most knee leashes I’ve seen are sized for le logs.

If my right hip gets any worse I'm gonna make one that attaches to my waist.

It has nothing to do with the length of your board. If you cross step, put your leash around your upper calf. That's the only reason not to put it around your ankle. If you don't noseride, or if you're a shuffler, and you put your leash around your calf, you're a poser.

I can't answer your question, but personally, I don't think I would be down with that.

It's kind of a pain in the... leg. If you put it up your leg too high, you end up getting pinched in the back of the knee every time you bend your leg. If you put it too low, it falls down around your ankle. You gotta put it in just the right spot, and have the actual chord and swivel pointed out in the right direction. Otherwise, you might as well weave it in and out of your toes and loop it around your ankle before every wave.

I just stick with a 9ft ankle leash on my LB, I can get on the nose without getting tripped up very often. There are times it messes me up but not ebough change to a leg rope.

I find when I step my back foot over my front foot (cross my stance), if my leash is around my ankle, the rubber cord will kick out under my foot, and I'll step on it with the same foot. Then when I pick my other foot up to step forward (and un-cross my stance) I'll catch the cord with my foot or toes and trip myself up. Keeping the leash around my leg keeps the cord clear of my feet.

    If I was a better surfer, I wouldn't need a leash!

When I surf without a leash it's like not wearing a condom (which I haven't done a looooong time).

I can't believe so many of you wear ankle leashes on logs. Im not a judgmental person, but if i see a LB with an ankle leash..... immediate judgement and hate haha.

LB, iv never had the issue you described with the knee leash. However i wear a full suit year round. No pinching. Also never had it fall down to my ankle. Always seemed pretty natural to me and not any different from an ankle leash. I believe mine is a creatures. Maybe it's a brand thing? Like suits. Certain brands fit certain bodies better. Or maybe im just lucky? Or maybe my calfs are just jacked as hell.

Nah i got the wimpyest calfs ever

I never even thought to try a calf leash. I stick with what’s always worked, like rolling J’s instead of the new high tech fancy ways of burning herb. Is the calf leash really that much better? Lol If you say yes, I will consider one. Can’t knock it till you try it I guess.

    Confession, question was for me

Bought a 8’0 on Craigslist for summer days. But turns out, I really fucking like it for anything up to 3-4’. Such a sick glide and makes crappy waves amazing.

Anyway. Never really rode a board I can actually get up to the nose. Haven’t been cross stepping, but my crouched cheat 5 and hang 10 has gotten pretty goode over the last two months. Mostly been going leashe-less, but I think I’ll just stick with the the ankle le grope when it gets over waist high.

This the whip. 8’0. It was basically brand new. Some lady had it on her wall in her oceanfront crib in Cardiff and she was moving. Her son doesn’t surf and he just wanted to get rid of it. $400 for something that is $800+ new. 40BE9C09-083D-40CE-8CDC-85A9D0663E06.jpeg
