I’ve surfer all over the world, and in my 30 something years of water time I’ve only had my leashe pulled at four locations to prevent me from getting into waves:
    Manasquan Inlet, NJ
    Harvey Cedars, NJ
    Gas Chambers, PR (by boogers)
Chuns Reef, Oahu (also by boogers)
I’ve pulled quite a few dick moves over the years, but never pulled a leashe.

This ever happen to youse guys? Where?

Nobody yanked your leash in Antarctica? I heard they were notorious for it!

Oh wow you got your leash pulled in in Ceda's

Man that had to have been in the 90's and it could have been SJB

Gas chambers is really a booger wave or standup shredda's who ain't afeared to break a stick

I have pulled a leash on my buddy when we are padding across the inlet south of WB.

Nothing like being dead tired in the middle of a sharky inlet and your bud completely stops your momentum.

Spot on with the time frame. Both Squan and Harvey leashe pulls happened in the late 80’s, early 90’s. I spent summers on the south end of LBI (beach haven crest) and we would venture north to Harvey’s on occasion.
Gas Chambers is a really chill family spot for a picnic, bbq, or whatever, but when you enter the water, total hostility.

i think i've done it a few times. but i know i did it accidentally once with my whole arm and it messed my arm up. it hurt pretty bad.

i was farther out paddling right and a guy spun around and tried to go left which essentially was going to block me. i was already about to stand up on this mush wall and i paddled one more time to get by him by going behind him. almost paddled over his feet. my left arm got caught buy surprise in his leash as i went by and it messed both of us up. strangled the piss out of my bicep as dude went over the falls.

he didn't say anything and i didn't feel like fighting someone with only arm.

I wish I could pee on that sign and post the pic “locally”. Bahahahahahahaha
90% of these “hardliners” are pussies that put that shit up. Don’t tell me Bruh’, show me. Show me how your lineup works, how you work the order, don’t just tell me to stay off “your break” cause it ain’t just yours. I respect that WAAAAAY more. And you may just keep order in your break, otherwise your just a chump with a mouth that writes checks his ass can’t cash and some dudes gonna ruin your day.

At my local in the late 1970s/early 1980s (I was in my teens and early 20s) we'd do it to each other and then fight. Quite often due to boredom. And lack of pussy.

Only time it happened with a stranger was at Sebastian Inlet back in the day, I'm sure I deserved it. We would pack a carload during the summer and drive up and invade 1st peak. Can't blame the natives for trying to shoo us away like the pesky insects we were.

Never pulled or had a leash pulled. But over the weekend i did have a incident similar to what metard described. "Technically" it was my fault as i was the one in the way. But in my opinion it wasn't a black and white situation. If anyone cares to hear it I'll tell but for now I'll save the long winded description.

Have "towed" a few kooky friends by having them hold on to my leash once or twice when they couldn't paddle with their bitch ass shoulders

^being "local" is a goofy hierarchy and is actually predicated by time. For instance, say that 20 years ago you put your time in, knew all the click, were "local" to a spot; then moved away because: Life. Now, when you go back to the spot no one knows you, beat it kook. Somewhat related, a lot of the older guys who competed and ripped back then get no respect today because no one knows who they are. What a silly way to act. Unless you have land rights to the area underneath the water, you are not "local." Furthermore, localism is just a way for jealous apipes to self delude that surfing is hard and has to be earned. Case-in-point; the US open of Surfing pre-contest morning surfs. You have 30-50 insanely good surfers jockeying for a limited number of peaks. All of these guys rip and are hungry to get their warmup going. Do you think that localism applies here? Is Simpo or Igarashi going to paddle out and set the rules? Nope.
